Wow, um yeah. I would lathe then drill press. Just because i think you need a solid piece of wood to stick the chuck in (On ours anyways i believe.) Then drill some holes on the side for the bungee and put on a poly finish.

Yep, lathe, then drill press, then drill the 2 holes. It took maybe 15 min's because I already had the block of wood.

It's made of wood so it actually can't be a sock....It's more like a barrel Clog (like the danish people's wooden shoes) but it's very cool anyway.

What would be cooler is if you dyed them cool colors. The wood grain would give it a very nice effect if it was dyed to match the marker....

Yeah that would be cool, paint it the same color as your quest. Or you could stain it almost, if you wanted to keep the wooden texture look to it.
