Rain Play...

Hey everybody. I know that you will all probably criticize me for this, but I just have a few questionos on Rain Play. First off, can an ION be used in the rain? I know that on paintball TV (NPPL, PSP, etc.) they use electronic guns in the rain, and they seem to be fine. Second, what is a good thing to use as barrel tape? Do you buy it online or just use something that you have at home? I am going to say thank you in advance for any help, and sorry for my anger at criticism in past posts. I am searching for a way to re-phrase my posts to make them more understandable!

just tape up the porting on the barrel. paint swells pretty damn quick. other than that you should be fine. boards are made to be able to take a little bit of moisture. not like you should dunk it in water but you get the idea lol.

barrel tapes...anything that you can wrap around the barrel that covers the porting. could be anything. just make sure you can take it off after.

i used electrical tape the 1 time i had to do it (indoor ftw). it stayed on fine and matched my barrel nicely. and came right off without leaving any stickyness or anything. i keep a roll of it handy.

That would work. I also keep a roll of it in my gear bag because when I played in the rain with my E99 I used to e-tape the edges of the grip frame. **Should I get a 14" All-American, or a 16"**

**My Barrel Choices**
-14 or 16" All-American w/ blue polished front
-14 or 16" Redz Pepper Stickz
-14 or 16" DYE Boomstick w/ silver back & blue front
**Which is better: 14 or 16" barrel? I am hereing a lot of arguements about gas-efficiency problems with longer barrels. True?**

Playing in the rain:

Tape up the porting in the barrel as suggested. You may also want to put tape on the seams of your loader as well. Obviously a Speedfeed is a bad idea in the rain. And carry a few swabs/squeegees with you onto the field.

As for the length of barrel....it's all preference. I like 14" barrels because it's what I've been using since I started playing. All 3 of those barrels are really good choices, and again it's all prefernce on what you like.

No, that tape is too porous, I recommend using black vinyl tape.

Yeah, Im planning on getting a 16" All-American. Its gonna be a black back, and a blue dusted front. And, yes the rifling is amazing!

AA's are not rifled.

AA's are also not good barrels. Neither are boomsticks.

Get a CP or a UL and be happy.

makes my shocker sound like a cannon though. and i've shot it with other barrels and it wasn't nearly as loud. and it's insanely broken in (like 40+ cases).

Yes, nd Ion can be used in the rain. You might considering opening up the grips and lining the sides with electrical tape and screwing the grips back on extra tight to make a better seal.

I try and avoid taping my barrel unless it's pouring really hard, I've found taping the barrel screws up the accuracy pretty bad.

Thanks for the tips. I'll keep that in mind when I play in the rain.
