Should be fine. In all honestly as long as the gun is consistent between shots velocity wise, and the paint isn't deformed, anything should be pretty accurate.

once you upgrade the reg, the gun's accuracy rocks. note: a new bolt and a new barrel as well as a good n2 tank will up the accuracy too. but the cp rep is the biggest up in accuracy with the ion.

wow, who said the Ion accuracy sucks? Its ll the player man. I went to an accuracy contest at my local field, with my brand new ion (right when they first came out). I beat DM5s, egos, etc and took home the prize.

I fear you've been misled, you're confusing efficiency with accuracy.

No he is right. The biggest factor on accuracy is consistency. If you reg sucks, and its going from 270 to 290, the balls will land in different places and their paths will be affected. If the gun is as consistent as possible then the guns accuracy will improve. I also had a CP reg on my Ion for a while and they are great and do help accuracy. If you make the conditions that each ball has to go through the same then each ball will hit the same exact spot.

that's precision. (I'm suddenly reminded of a chemistry lecture back in highschool by this) paintballs arent' accurate, but they can be made to shoot more precisely.

But if they are precise doesnt that mean they are accurate? Consistency in the amount of air that hits the ball and that is put through the gun will affect your accuracy.

precision isn't necessarily accuracy. you could aim ata point yet hit another point every time and you would be precise, but not accurate.
I'm sorta arguing here for the sake of arguing. I understand what you're saying.

lol, yea. I know what your saying too, but if the balls hitting the same spot time after time i consider that accuracy cause you should be able to change. I consider accuracy a ball hitting the same spot each time, not necessarily going straight. Sp yea, with my definition of accuracy you could be shooting 10 ft to the left every shot but i would still call ti accurate, lol.

2-3 eh? It may take a lil more than that, i would say around 5k shots more like. Some guns you need 10 cases through it.

The stock reg on an Ion usually runs at about 160 - 180 psi. But, based on conditions and if the gun is broken in and stuff (and based on upgrades), it can go lower. When i dropped in my orange bolt i was able to lower the pressure to about 120.

putting in a new bolt and QEV allows you to drop pressure drastically thus saving alot of air.
