A5 or Tac-One?? (Help!)
Just looking for some advice really.
Ive been looking round for a new woodsball/scenario marker. Im not massively bothered about the amount of Bps, my main concern is distance & accuracy.
Long story short, im torn between the Tippmann A-5 Stealth and the AGD Tac-One but cant really settle on one or the other! Ive heard great things about both. But I was just looking for other peoples hands on experiences to clear up a few questions, such as;
Is the Flatline barrel superior a modded Tac-One, with regards to accuracy and distance?
Good/Bad experiences with either marker?
etc...
Anything else Ild need to know?

ok, well the distance, and accuracy are really most dependant on the type and amount of gas your shooting through the gun, and the paint you use, that being said id go with the A5 simply because its a tippmann, its a reliable, durable gun with a great company support plan. Now if your going with the flat line barrel, then realize that it will give you more range, but less accuracy, because as the ball flies it will be acted upon by natural forces (Wind, Gravity, etc..) and the velocity will drop because of prolonged friction with the air so it will be less likely to break if it actually hits someone, then your also in the woods if your using an A5 or a Tac-one so the extra distance probobly wont do you much good as the ball will most likely hit a tree or a twig before itgets into the extended range the flatline provides, so i'd recommend saving your cash and not buying a flatline at all. Now, if your going to play in the woods, and your planning on needing range and accuracy, im going to assume your playing as a 'sniper' charichter. Firstly, understand that you will not be able to operate as a military sniper would, you wount be longballing people with precise one shot kills, the way a paintball sniper works is the player hids out on the feild and dosent move all game, he waits for one or more players to walk by and eliminates them with as few shots as possible. This means you may want to invest into a really good camo system, even to the point of buying a good ghillie suit

I would go with the tac-1. Its really a preference thing though. The flatline barrel is pretty cool though. From what i have seen, it isnt really for shooting someone 200 feet away, but shooting someone who is in the regular enguagment distance but is under a bridge or bush so you dont have to arc your shot so much.

You're comparing a tippmann to a mag.... lol i'm just playing with you, i can tell you're new.
Tippmanns are low end markers, where as mags are some of the highest end mechanical markers out there. I would go with the tac-1, but I’m the mag man. Before you consider either, you really need to look into the specs of both and what kind of maintenance you’d have to do on them. You do not want to get in over your head! Also it’s much better to run a mag off of HPA, CO2 tends to be a little tricky with ‘em.

98 customs are the crappiest marker Tippmann has ever made. The egg shell body design is horrible, the internals are made of the cheapest grade aluminum there is. The stock parts are horrible, and the only way to make the damn thing better is to do some half ass home remedies to get it working to its specifications.
- Slow
- Ugly
- Poorly made
- Inaccurate
- Loud as hell
- Over priced
I lost respect for Tippmann when they made that marker. The ProCarbine was their last great design.

- Slow-You obviously don't try to shoot them fast.
- Ugly-So what? If it rails you in the face, who cares?!
- Poorly made-Have you ever dropped one? Thrown one?
- Inaccurate-Have you ever even shot one?
- Loud as hell-If you hear it shoot, its too late.
- Over priced-You have to pay to play.

Tippmann has always made good products (minus the C4).

The 98 and up aren't good products, they're cheap production models to make money. There is no quality to a 98, it’s a hunk of cheap ass aluminum. AGD makes quality, and they always have since day one. Blow back design is the worst design ever. It’s loud, it causes accuracy issues, it’s out dated. It’s only used because it’s cheap.

shutup youcantseeme, you've triple posted now arguing a point you don't understand. You obviously know nothing about mags, get off it. The mag is going to be the better gun....get over it. Theres nothing superior about the 98 to a mag....period. you cant name me one real thing.
Your not going to win this one, quit arguing.
btw, I maintain a dozen of them as rentals....I know exactly what I'm talking about.

An Automag would be much better in the long run...I personally would pick an A5, as the Automags confuzzled me, lol.
And there are billions of options when it comes down to customizing your A5 if that's what you're into. Hell, you can modify it to look like a MP5k chambered in 7.62mm, which while unrealistic, would (sorta') help you stand out as an individual.

Get an ION
actually i'd go for a used mag that is cheap on a forum or ebay.
Make sure you get HPA and also a good barrel system. Things to look for is a RT or Xvalve and Level 10 bolt. Those are very necessary upgrades on a Mag. Also they have a forum...can't remember the name, but you if you google automag owners i'm sure you'll find it. I think it might be AOonline or some thing.

Lolz, The Tippnman 98 Custom is kinda famous for it be the most customized gun in the world. I've seen Tippman 98 Customs that look like real guns, though as he said unrealistic, kinda does help you stand out and makes noob scared. As for the mag or A-5 :O mag But if HPA and a new barrel is a problem I guess A-5
