Yea, i remember when i thought it was a rip off, then i actually started helping run tournies and work at a field. These guys need to make money, especially at small fields. Usually most of the entries go to prizes or special effects to make the game better, then they also need to turn a profit off of paint to live on and to pay refs and other workers.

the pev's near me gets team colors paint and just slaps a "pev's" stamp on the balls, works fine with my cocker. most of the time i just bring a few bags along with me, and they never have said anything to me in almost 3 years of going there

it's not worth $99 a case unless they shine your shoes upon entry and exit, feed you a 3 course meal and so on and so forth. I founda great place ot play once but it was too expensive for paint so i've never gone back.

EMR is much, much, much better... Read all about the skirmish debacle at their big game last year... The Entire German Army QUIT because of how bad and unsafe the game was.

Frankly there isn't a paint out there that is worth 99/case, on or off the field.

My field I go to PaintballAtlanta charges $80/case for field paint, but at least it is decent paint. They use PMI Premium paint as their standard and RPS Polar Ice during the winter months. They do have a couple of discounts though. If you go to one of their retail stores on a Friday, you can buy the field paint on sale for $65. If you are a season pass holder, then you can buy the field paint for $60 at the field any day.

$60/ case of PMI Premium isn't outrageous at all. Most websites sell it for around $50-55/case.

I agree that the fields have to make a living some how. The season pass my field offers is $90 for 12 months of play, and that is much cheaper then field fees plus paying top dollar for field paint.

Just my opinion.

The field about 20 miutes away from me has field paint for $50/case. Good deal. I figured out if there is two people and they split the cost of paint and admission, it's only $35/person for 1000 paintballs each. May not be able to play very long, but hey, it's better than nothing.

IMO anything higher than $70 is gouging there is no reason for it no paint is worth that much (except the dynasty paint may be 70 retail but ive yet to see a field that sells it.)
