Gun problem

Well, now I talked to my mom and she still thinks it's dangerous. I've also found out she has a problem with guns and shooting people turned into a game/sport. I know this is useless, but does anyone have an idea on how to alter her thoughts on this? I will go as far and further as playing recordings while she's sleeping.

lol. subliminal messages, good idea. As a parent, I can assure you that aside from taking her to an event and showing her what its all about, there probably wont be that much you can do. Believe it or not we usually have good reasons for our actions, and if she feels that strongly about it, you should respect her wishes. My suggestion is to handle it like an adult. Bring to light the fact that paintball is the only sport where you are actually penalized for any kind of physical contact with another player. Try to point out that it promotes teamwork, cooperation, and physical activity. That would sure get my attention. Its all how you approach it. If you come to her like a whiny brat, you're obviously not mature enough to weild a weapon that can launch a marble sized projectile at 200mph.

Just don't say the 200 mph thing and marble...

Also you don't have to keep creating new threads. You can continue on one you've already created.

As I said in your other thread, I would even be willing to discuss it with her on the phone or AIM if it will help you.

The long and short is, your going to get hurt, but even at absolute point blank range, the worst that's going to happen is a small break in the skin. Explain to her that there is a limitation system on velocity that is fastidiously enforced on most fields to prevent major industry, and that with proper safety devices(masks and BARREL BAGS(which is every bit as important, even in rogue ball)) paintball is statistically safer than bowling.
