When I think of a back up gun, I think of any older high end marker that may not hold up to constant use all summer, but can step in and shoot at a high performace when your main goes down. So if I was you, I'd be looking for the best deal on any older 06 or so marker. Bob Longs, and matrixes is where i'd look if you want to stay cocker threads.

i run a dm6 as my primary, i dont want to be a 1 brand paintballer, my cocker as my secondary and if someone else comes with me i want a third i can pull out if anything goes wrong with the first two. the impulse is hard to find parts for and not the best thing to give to a potential girlfriend, so i figure i can sell it for around 100 and dump a little extra in and get something else, something i dont already own, and since i own two spool markers (yes the impy is a poppet but im not counting it since im getting rid of it) i figure it would be nice to get something that is not a spool, so im not discriminating.

sofar i like the mini idea with a XE that has cocker threads second, does the mini need anything out of the box? i dont think so but i forgot

Nope. A spring kit and bolt if you want it to shoot fantastically well, but out of the box they shoot fine.

Some colors only released in gen2. Also, the ASA gen 1 has a single largish purge hole, gen 2 has 4 smaller ones. Gen 1 gauge is 600 psi, gen 2 is 300 I believe. Without opening her up, that's the only cosmetic differences.

I do not know of anyone changing the e2 trigger over to springs. With the design, I have a feeling it will require some minor fabrication to do, as the return magnets are pull magnets at the top of the trigger, not push magnets above the optical leaf.

ya id either like push magnets or spring (i like the trigger to have more resistance as it travels) ill see if i can rig anything up but i dont have high hopes with such a limited space to work with
