Ziplines

So one day when im out of college and have my own land im ganna have acre upon acre devoted to paintball with forts and all that good stuff. I thought it would be pretty sweet to have ziplines so you could cover big distances and cross streams with ease. i would have a metal bar with a wheel that i would carry with me (that way i wouldnt have to worry about walking the seat of a standard zipline back to the start of the zipline) this would maybe add a cool twist to the game, what do you guys think? (for those of you who like woodsball)

it sounds incredibly dangerous. you can easily have slick hands from paint and fall off, your mask could slipoff, you coudl fall on your marker, breaking all the paint in the hopper, or even breaking yourself in some way etc etc etc..

That's not that bad, but you'll have to wear your harness all day long, and be sure to be attached to your zipline while using like martix said.

If you're not a zipline specialist, you should not do that, it can be very dangerous.

ya the only way i see it working is if you have a harness, even then you have to worry about carrying your marker and not dropping it, o and your going to be getting shot at at the same time....

my opinion, not a good idea

well i guess you'd have to have a sling for your gun, and getting shot at is just a risk you'd have to take if you did choose to use the zipline. I'm ganna research ziplines and make sure i get the safest equipment of course. idk its still a half baked idea. suggestions on how to make it work?

maybe instead of a harness use a chair that you strap into.

well it wouldnt be a seat or harness cuz then you'd have to walk it all the way back to the start of the line. I would have a bar with a wheel that i would carry around with me and when i choose to use the zip line i would just the bar on the line and go

agreed, not to mention all you would have to do when you hear someone get on it is throw up a line of paint right where they are going and bam, one dead person on a zipline

id put the money into bunkers instead

I think thats sounds like a great idea. sounds like fun. Matrix is a downer. i say go for it. There is always a level of injury in any sport. When you do get that land be sure to invite me i would love to slide down a zipline while getting some headshots

considering you have more of a chance of going to the emergancy room from bowling than painball...injurys are pretty low, and gennerally caused by just tripping, falling, running into things, zip lines etc etc

you can test this thing

I'd stay away from a zip line. Build a bridge or a catwalk or something. If you do end up making a zip line, I would say just use it for equipment. You could send across paint to a teammate or all your equipment. Then just dash across.
