New set of gear, want some opinions

So i just want some opinions on my first set of gear. I been using rentals for a little while and i recently joined up with the club and am looking to get some gear of my own (rental gun = custom 98 which i dont entirely like).

Whatever i do decide on will have to work for both speed/woodsball.

(Going for compressed air since its cheaper to fill, $250 is my budget )

For starters the MR1 is actually worse than the 98C you already don't like.

Also, that tank isn't the best. If you're going with HPA, get a 48/4500 tank. Actionvillage has one for right at $100.

hmm ok, my understanding was that 4500psi was a bit harder to find a fill station for, i gotta ask my local field if they can accommodate that =/

Ok so what would you recommend for a speed/woodsball marker?

Spyder Xtra? Maybe a BT-Combat(this was another marker i was highly enthusiastic about)

The 4500 is actually more of a "just in case" situation a lot of places can't fill all the way to 4500 but they can still fill a 4500 tank to 3000. The BT4 is identical in performance to the 98C because it is the same design but built a lot nicer the finish on them is very nice for the price they go for but if you don't like the 98C you still won't like the BT4. If I were starting over again I'd pick up an SP1 they cost a bit more but the performance gain is night and day over a blowback marker like the 98C or Spyder.

id go vibe over sp1 for the double trigger, it would come in handy for the occasional speedball match

also, craw why do you say the mr1 is worse than the 98?

Just poor quality in general. I have yet to pick up a Spyder and get the feeling that it was a solid piece of reliable equipment.

at any rate i would go mr1 over 98 but they are both mechanical blowbacks, preformance wise they will be almost identical

TippmannFireman, hes getting the 48/3000 for 46 dollars, to me thats a good deal. and if your going into speedball and woodsball i either say vs2 or sp1(if you get an sp1 just put some uppgrades on it..i.e. double trigger etc.)

a 48/3k is one of the smallest air tanks on the market, thats a decent deal at best, i wouldnt call it good by any means.

and why get a sp1 then upgrade the trigger when you could just start with a vibe? same guts but comes with a double trigger stock
