Noticed that the thread for the Zealot had become active again, including posts by some of the TAS guys (for those that haven't followed, the Zealot is the new Thin Air Sports marker, built off the Quest by the guys that released the 4B bolt kit). This is the single marker I've been looking forward to for a long time, hoping it won't be much longer until I can start looking into getting one.
If it does get released soon, if anyone's interested in picking up a Creed, I can guarantee you mine will be on the market to try to get the fundage to pick up the Zealot.
Not yet, but I'm guessing it's going to be around the 1K area, they've specifically said they're targeting the high end. And it's internally plumbed, OLED, on/off, and all.
I expect the ZR1 will shoot nicely (I'll find out tomorrow). But i don't see it being long for this world, not with Chris saying they'll confiscate markers that are sent in for repairs if they happen to be one of the ones that Chris ordered from Spurlock but won't pay for.
Because he won't pay the money for them from Spurlock, so Spurlock has said he's going to resell them directly if Chris doesn't pay for them to recoup the expenses they spent on manufacturing them.
Chris says they weren't within spec, Spurlock says they were within the specs they were given. He says/he says.
Kinda sounds like the FEP thing with WAS to me. Chris refusing to admit his specs were off and it caused a component of the design to be faulty (WAS boards/eye harness), Chris refuses to admit he can POSSIBLY be wrong, company goes downhill despite a promising product.
And yes, Spurlock is releasing the Vapor, however that is his own (supposed) design. He only MANUFACTURED the ZR1's, had nothing to do with the design/development.
Production costs. Spurlock is in Taiwan, you can get them manufactured a LOT cheaper than paying for American manufacturers, or buying the tools required to do it yourself.
But you risk this. Same as what happened to Hostile Creations with the Rogue that led to Hostile Inc marketing them. Hostile Inc was originally only going to manufacture for HC.
no im not saying the production and distribution side, im saying on the maintenance side if your marker needs work why would you send it into an air smith?
I can't wait. Depending on milling, I'll have to get rid of 2 markers this year to make room for a Zealot and a Paragon. But that's entirely dependant upon the Paragons milling. The 3d renderings looked UGLY, so I'm not guaranteeing myself that I'll buy one.
Here are the photos that TAS sent to us at GameOn exclusively that we posted on our FB page and shared with other media members. I think only one was posted here so far. I think they may send us more a bit later though as they prepare to launch sales. We will be reviewing when Erik makes a trip back over here and lets us get our hands on it.
some more pics. The ASA looks bulky, and i'm not a big fan of the knob sticking out of the back. That's purely cosmetic, though. The front grip kinda looks like a dildo, also.
It's a Pikkadol Chrome inspired push/pull bolt retention, thus necessitates the snatch looking knob. However, it has been designed to ensure safety. It has a mechanical failsafe to ensure you can't accidentally release the bolt when it's aired up.
I do agree that the ASA isn't the most attractive, but overall I like the lines of the marker.
