Want first strikes, not sure what to get.

Now that I'm getting more time to play paintball and also more money I want to expand my paintball experience with the first strike rounds. My marker is not first strike compatible not even with mods so I'll have to get a marker that can shoot first strikes but I'm not sure which. I've been thinking three possiblilities:

1. The Spyder 2013 Hammer 7 (When it comes put) and I'll kill two births with one stone, I can have a pump, which I have always been curious about, and have my first strike "sniper". The problem here is that I don't want to have to play a game just to snipe and/or pump so I'll have to have my TM-15, and the Hammer 7 slung on my back, which will probably be to heavy or uncomfortable.

2. The Spyder E-MR5 (When it comes out). With this I can still have an electro ready to shoot on different firing modes and by just twisting the barrel I can have the first strikes without carrying a second marker. The problem is that the E-MR5 is a blowback and the TM-15 is a, Poppet Valve I believe? So it will really be a downgrade in performance.

3. Just save up some money and buy the Dye D.A.M, that way I can have the first strikes, good internals, and no need of carrying more than just one marker. The problem is of course, the money. Since I can only buy mil-sim markers inside Mexico (buying them online from another country will most probably cause a confiscation in customs due to the very strict weaopn control in Mexico) the D.A.M will have somewhat a crazy price. Just to give you an idea, an Etek4 LT, which is $500 dollars, is priced at $10, 000 Pesos ($770.00 dollars aprox.), and a Luxe for $21, 000 ($1620 dollars aprox) so the D.A.M would probably be priced around $20, 000 pesos.

What do you think I should do? I don't mind if you suggest anything else.

I'd go with the Hammer. No point in downgrading and the DAM is simply going to be tooo overpriced.

Ok, as soon as I can get my hands in one I'll get the Hammer 7, I already have everything to have the Hammer at it's full potential (It would probably be a round $2000 pesos, $3000 maximum). Doeas anyone know when is it coming out?

PS I also thought about a pistol. I can get a T8.1 but I'm not sure I can get a pistol pouch for it and I don't like the 12 gram cartige idea.

that defeats the "want of first strikes" not the need to play pump

the hammer makes the most sense but in reality i think you will end up either playing pump or leaving it in the staging area because if you think about it you will have to bring the tm-15 and pods plus the hammer 7 plus mags not to mention most likely 2 air systems unless you can find a way of using a remote and split the feed

loosing that much maneuverability seems like you would not use the 15 all that much because you would not get within a range to use it as it would be hard to move around and firefight carrying the hammer along for the ride

on the mrx side, you solve the issue of the second marker but i think your right, not gaining enough on the performance side to justify it

I think the DAM would be a great idea, the only issue is if you want to spend that much money, as long is it is matrix internals which i have not heard anything else saying it is not and from what has been released that seems to be the thing signs are pointing towards it would be a great upgrade from the 15 along with being able to use the FS rounds and flip to a hopper on the fly.

here is what I suggest though, get your hands on some first strikes, use your TM-15 and breach load them. that way you can get a feel for them and if you still like them keep going with this idea, if it turns out you think they are going to cost too much in the long run or for one reason or another they dont work for you you can cut your losses now before you sink money into something

I thought about most of what you said, carrying two air systems won't be an issue to me nor will it carrying the mags (I have a vest with enough space), and I can sling the Hammer 7 on my back, but easier said than done, it will probably be uncomfortable. And also what you said aout either ending up not using one of the two is true, I kind og though about that since swithcing the two markers every time the ocation comes up would be frustrating.
Next time I go to the field I'll sling to my back another marker to see how comfortable/uncomfortable it is to see if it is a good idea or not. I'll see if I can get a tube of first strikes, I don't think I can get a single tube of FS (they only sell boxes) but I'll try.

Hopefully the price of the D.A.M won't be as high as I expect it to be when stores in Mexico start selling it, or BT will come up with something aftet the Empire Vanquish is released (I am sure BT will make another TM when the Vanquish is released, but for how the mil-sim world is moving it won't be agood move from BT's part to just make a "better" TM-15 without FS capability).

I think I'll just wait a coupl eof months to see what happens before I decide.

i think what you are going to find having one marker slung over your back is at every opportunity it is going to want to fall off. granted i never have tried but it seems to me that you will spend a lot of time using your off hand to adjust it so it will stay with you

there are pistols out there that are FS capable correct? what about a FS pistol? that way it would be lighter and have a holster so it would not go anywhere?

That's what I wanted to test but I think it's most probable that it won't be comfortable. There is a reason why soldiers don't carry two long weapons at once.

Yeah I actually thought about the pistol and thought it was a good idea, until I came up with a problem: The 12 gram CO2 cartiges, which are very expenisve in Mexico, I think they even double the American price, and I don't want to be paying that much since the FS are already very expenive:

First Srtike
tanque 12 grs co2

You can run a remote to either the Tippmann or Tiberius pistol - solves the 12g problem!! Both can run FS Rounds - Tib comes mag ready out of the box - I prefer the Tippmann personally...but if you can, try both out and see what fits you better.

Hammer 7 all the way, the DS Mag is a great feature, plus the option of playing hopper ball, all round great gun!

Yeah but that'd mean I'll have to carry two tanks and I have no way of carrying two, plus I am afraid that with a pistol I might not have the precision I need since I lack stability without something like a stock or any type of sights to make sure that I won't lose the FS shot.

I think I will wait for a while to see if I get enough money for the DAM or if the next TM has something I similar.

One tank on the back of your vest - quick connect remote line - problem solved. You can get longer barrels for the pistols. I thought you wanted one as a backup though??

The thing is my TM-15 already uses a remote line, and is uncomfortable to have the tank directly conetced to the ASA.
About the backup marker, I used to want a backup some time ago, but I was later convinced I didn't need one (I have never found myself on a situation where I would need to have a sidearm, and I am sure most people here haven't either). What I want now is a marker that can run FS rounds but having a second marker with me slung on my back won't be comfortable and I'd have less movility. There miust be reasons why real soldiers don't have two long weapons with them during combat and I'm sure that's one of them; maybe you can do it trobuless in a videogame but in real life I don't think so. I in fact tried it with my TM-15 and my Bravo One slung on my back and it didn't feel good for the field, and it was kind of a mess to switch between them, having to unslung one, slug the other one, and disconnecting the remote from one and connecting it to the other one, even with my quick-disconnect remote.

you could find a way to connect both to one tank using remotes, heck off the top of my head, something like a CP mini on/off on the tank, those have an output on both sides, on marker one is plugged but there is nothing stopping you from throwing an output on both sides, a few connections later and you are into 2 remote lines.

they also make adaptors for the 9g cartages so as long as its not in the grip frame you can run a remote to any pistol that runs a 9g
