Which marker to choose?? , need experts help!

Hey there. I recently traded my bob long vice for a pump marker and now im down to only have a bob long G6R are my speedball marker. I was looking at a few mid ranged markers and ive been looking into each one. Obviously you hear good and bad things about each one of them online but its hard to believe who. I just wanted to see if there would be somewhat of a consensus.

The markers ive been looking at possibly getting are the 2012 proto reflex rail, Macdev drone dx, eclipse etha. As for slightly more expensive markers, the Dangerous power revi, and the Zodiak zr1.

Keeping in mind, im not one to worry to much about marker kick, how soft it is on paint, how loud the marker is or how crazy straight it shoots. Thing im looking for the most is air efficiency. Where i play only fills up to 3000 psi, and on busy days, 2500 psi. So being decent on air is a must lol. thanks!

Reflex Rail - An overpriced PMR. Not worth the money. I mean, shoots nice, but not enough to warrant the cost, and no better efficiency than a $300 PR.
Drone DX - Definitely one of the nicest (although loses IMO to the Rogue+), mid-priced spools more expensive than a Proton/Aura.
Etha - meh is all I could think of when shooting it. Crappy trigger, cheap feel, not all that smooth, not all that quiet. If it was priced below the Proton/Aura, I could see it's existence, but as is, it joins the PRR as being way too overpriced for what it brings to the table. Not all that much more efficient than anything else in the price range either.
Rev-I - GORGEOUS marker. But it's a G4 in a longer body, and the performance will be below that of the PRR, DX, although generally SLIGHTLY more efficient than a PRR.
ZR1 - Heavier than the Quest it's based on. $1000 and doesn't even include a #$^%@#$%@#$%ing on/off. Trigger while a nice design just feels off. FUGLY barrel.

IMO, get a used Quest and get a 4B bolt kit. More efficient than any of these.

Of that list, Drone DX.

Biggest question would be though, if you're only interested in efficiency, why get rid of the single most efficient mass-produced marker there is, to go to something that will be less efficient.

Look for a alien invasion, bob long marq, even the vanguard demon if its on sale or used i would get it in a heart beat
I owned a 2012 demon and really kicking myself for selling it to my ex's dad
The gun shoots super smooth, nice barrel, nice gun overall and is really efficient

2013 Demons even better. And more efficient than the 2012. And no more QEV to wear out.

I'd say check out a Quest too. If you're dead set on getting the PRR, ansgear.com has them on sale with a rotor. Other than that, I think that the Rogue+ looks pretty cool, and from the things I've heard about it, it's a fantastic marker. I think that they're running around $350-400 used.

By quest, do you guys mean the First Endeavor Quest? Ive actually seen some used ones online. I always get nervous about buying markers you don't hear or see a lot of. That parts may be impossible to find. I am kinda leaning towards the drone dx, I liked their tactical drone but apparently they don't make them anymore..

Yes, the FEP Quest. Several of us on here have them, some of us have had several (I think I'm up to 7 total through the years). Simple, easy to maintain, with RSF bolt (Critical Paintball) or 4B bolt kit (Thin Air Sports, no longer made but can still be found sometimes) they're as efficient if not more so than any other spool made. Very smooth shooting, simple to tune, and does better with cold weather than many other spools. Loud though. Also, personally speaking, FANTASTIC stock trigger.

As far as parts, Critical Paintball still carries (although doesn't list on their website) almost every part of the marker as they bought the rights to them.

A guy on some craigs list type website near me, has been trying to sell one for months. It looks brand new and is only for 300. Might be able to pull off 250!

They're not that bad, just not as soft as some out there, and the corners aren't as well rounded as they could be. If the mood strikes you, Clone VX grips/board will fit the DX to upgrade to slightly nicer grips and an OLED board.
