IF they sold/lost the impulse patent and kept the Ion patent it was clearly because they knew the impulse patent wasn't going anywhere. It wasn't successful when they tried to revamp it, so why not make some money off of it and keep the marker that can/was selling like crazy.
Just makes good business sense.

i don't know the specifics. comes down to what patents were in their name versus in SP's name, and what they were able to license or transfer to themselves before the bankruptcy hit. if nothing else, the gardners are shrewd businessmen.

I meant the revamped impulse, maybe it was the 2010??? I dunno. I forgot lol. But yeah, that gun felt sinfully nice in my hands. It was embaressing.

from what i remember when i read the patent over a few years back the patent did have one of the Gardners names on it along with a handful of other people

Bah, the 11's shouldn't leak unless the user doesn't know what they're doing. The 10's without the 11 upgrades, yes, but the 11 internals were all "fixed" and every one I've worked on never had further issues with leaking.
That said, they do still suck compared to balanced spools, although they're more efficient than the PRR.

A teammate of mine has an 11 NT. it's alright I guess. I don't like how it feels.
he jut picked up a G6R though because i love mine so much so maybe I can get him to come to the dark side (we have poppits!)
