Paintball videos???

So my buddy just bought a new camera, and he is thinking about putting a paintball video/channel thing up on youtube. In these videos, he wants me, and a couple other people to show people who don't have a lot of paintball experience, some helpful tips and some good beginner info.

I thought that I'd get on here, and ask you guys what you think about this idea, and if you guys have any thoughts on what should, and what shouldn't be talked about.

It's been done plenty already, but some good info on the different types of play, different classes of guns, how to field strip said guns, maintenance, sportsmanship, safety etc would cover the basics. Nothing really to not talk about off the top of my head, just make sure you know what you are talking about lol. Cheers!

Bunker names, identification, calling.

Team communication. Team building. What to expect in a game.

Basic strategy and how to be team-minded while behind a bunker.
*I guess I think this hasn't really been done. Most of the topics covered under this envelope deal with a more introverted approach, and completely neglect the concept of "team".

Break - how to lane over/around/etc. your front.

How to interact as a front/back.

I guess, just a more Macro idea of how to play. Everyone does Micro...being the best player you can be...when the reality is - not everybody can be Micheal Jordan. Support players - those that are team-centric and selfless - are just as important.

Sliding and the proper way to do it. There are a lot of people who cover it that don't cover it well...don't cover it correctly, or suggest incorrect methods of doing it. Being older - we know that a double knee slide generally isn't a good idea.

Idk - maybe a lot of the things we would like to say on here, but can't properly explain, as we neglect a visual medium to do so? Using a Spider Fenix against a team mate shooting an Ego..to prove that its more player than gear?

i think its a good idea, while there are plenty of paintball videos out there i dont think there are many aimed at new players. maybe start real simple, this is my first time trying out this paintball thing, how do i find a field, how do i know what i need to pay for and what i dont need, if i have my own gear, what is "chronoing", why does my rental sound like it just went full auto? where do i go to get a fill etc etc

tell them to come read my guide!

I LOVE waffles, but a paintball video didn't have to teach me that..

but see i think there are enough videos out there already like this, but for a new player if someone is on a video saying to shoot for the snake and they dont even know what the snake is, then your whole video aimed at new players falls apart. not to mention, how many new players are diving? its all great if you have been in the sport for a while and have pads but thats typically not the case with new players. i say work on the super basics before moving on to specific bunkers and styles on how to play them

i say start super simple, what is the dead box? can i hide behind it? (seen it happen) when the ref says go, what do i do? do i stand still and wait to see what happens? if i have a speck of paint on me, am i out? how do i know for sure? how do i cock my rental marker? etc etc

While a lot of what Trbo says is 2nd nature to all of us.... he does have a point.

I've made it a point to take some of my (now) sedentary friends out for an afternoon in attempt to get them moving...and to have someone else to play with. "When do I have to wear a mask? Where do I put my barrel bag? Deadbox - what's that? Am I out? I'm borrowing someone else's gear, what basics should I have in mind?"
