Tank covers?
What kind of tank covers do you Gus like? I'm looking for one to protect my a ninja50/4500 but there's not much of a selection.

I use the small version of this on my 50 cu ninja tank. it's a little longer than the bottle but it works great. it's thick too; I wouldn't think twice about chucking my tank halfway across the field.

you could also buy one of the rubber butt grips that are around. ninja, planet eclipse, exault all make them

I'm not a fan of hockey tape as i've heard it can render a tank ineligible for hydro testing.

I've never seen one up close but the butt grips don't look like they protect the tank that much. But I could be wrong.

not really, but then again neither does hockey tape. They add grip to the tank though.
unless you're playing on rocks or something, the ground won't injure your tank. I still prefer a full tank cover if given the option
here's a picture of how it looks on my tank.

i love the dye rhinos, i had an NXe cover on my first tank but it always wanted to turn around. the rhinos are very tough to move, got my first one and loved it so much i picked up a second for my ninja tank.

I'd like to know how hockey tape can do this...
I mean, looking at this - its a cloth tape backed with a low "Stick", non marking adhesive. While I haven't had to hydro any of my tanks yet, the only side-effect I've come to find is that it prevents dirt from staining the tank gel cover...though this would be true of printer paper if you covered 1/2 your tank in white 90 lumen paper and left the other half exposed.
...and to boot, somewhere on these forums in the past 6 months - a Ninja rep cited that the gel cover protects the fibers of the tank, but can be cracked/marred/ripped, though still allow the tank to function normally...to the point that Ninja was willing to hydro it.

paintball aliens only abduct tanks that are hockey tape wrapped therefor you can not hydro them because they are gone...

I've looked into this a bit - and I'll probably be e-mailing both Ninja and Crossfire to find out if I'm interpenetrating this correctly.
All tank manufacturers require that all stickers, tape, markings, and covers be removed from the tank prior to having it hydro tested as is required for visual inspection. I'd imagine that they could refuse to hydro a tank due to excess adhesive being left on the tank, or with tape left on the tank (which violates the rule about all stickers/tape/adhesives/etc being removed from the tank.
Eah - I'll keep everyone updated with my findings. Probably create a thread with paraphrased e-mail responses....ah well -back on topic. Tank covers! Go!

I still can't figure out why hybrid quit/stopped/went bankrupt. They were possibly the hottest company around, and they just stopped. Makes no sense at all.

that makes sense, at least for scubas though a visual inspection requires looking inside the tank, nothing that stickers or tape will cover up....
but i could see the argument for checking exterior structural integrity
