Winter is coming and I ride my bike around lots and lots while working. This is the first year I've done something like this and i'm curious what sort of paintball lubes would work on a bike chain/components.

I own tri-flow, which is actually a bike lubricant for components(IE,brake joints, derailleur joints/wheels)so that's a good start.
you think DOW silicone(or is it lithium?) lubricant is thick enough to work on the chain/gears? For the last 700 miles or so, I've used the same spray lube that I use on my motorcycle chain. I imagine I'll be cleaning my bike off once a week or more because of the salt and sand from the roads. What I've been using works, but I'm open to trying out some new things.

I've already gotten winter riding gear. Riding around when it's 30 degrees is infinitely better when your'e wearing the proper clothing.

while i dont have experience with bikes in snow i do do a decent amount of ATVs in the dunes and it seems to be similar (chains/parts need lubrication, lots of sand/salt around)

#1 thing is you do not want to use oil and grease is even worse, what happens is with grease especially all the sand/salt sticks to it and then you are basically making sure you are grinding those into your chain and gears

i have used...i think it was lithium white with fairly good results, a more wax based lube helps like this

a lot of guys dont lube their chains for dune riding, that way the sand just falls straight off, i lube with a more wax based but go very light, seems to work well

My dad said he uses chainsaw oil on them pretty successfully but has to re-apply it fairly frequently.

This wax you speak of is interesting. I think i'm going to go to a local bike shop and ask them what they think is best.
