old tippman vs new tippman
Can somebody give me a rundown of exactly they changed that's noticeable on tippmans that's made them lesser quality? I've been looking for one to use as a beater, and i think I found it. The guy doesn't know how old it is, though and i'm trying to figure out questions I can ask about it to know if it's pre or post 2004.
Yes Trbo, it's not a spyder. get over it. I used to own a 68 carbine and that thing was a tank; wish now i'd never sold it.

I have an old X7. Im having a hard time saying good bye to it.
The number 1 reason is I have a response trigger in my old one and the new X7 has the e trigger. The RT allows me to decide - as I am shooting - what I want, full auto, 3 round, single shot. The e trigger means throwing a switching and even then I have to pull the trigger 3 times before I get auto...freaking annoying.
Also...I have not chopped a ball in over 6 months. Since March, I have not had to do anything but oil it at the beginning of the day...thats with me playing once or twice a week. When I do need to get it "fixed" its simple, fast and almost always at no cost.
So ya, its a tank.

nope, x7 was after the a5
A5, im not sure came about right before or right after the company changed hands but either way it was the start of the downfall and had the plastic power tubes. when tippmann was making good 98s all they were producing was the 98 and perhaps the 68 still but im not sure on that one
