Since it isn't yours, i'm going to take this opportunity to LOL at the price. Evos are nice, but they aren't worth $1000, despite what people seem to think in the last couple weeks.

I'd rather save $200 more and buy a Dye DAM.

One in the same just just sold for a little over 1K, a Red fade undrilled sold for $1100 - he is a little high, but not by much - one of the sought after cockers.

I just think the recent pricing is a short-lived bubble brought on by a surge of fanboyism and one trend-setting sale on eBay. Keep in mind the same guns went for 50% of those prices just a few months ago, and even less last year and the year before. I had a couple Evos in 2010 that I bought and sold for barely $400, including a near mint 2k2/3 model with matching Freak and all the fixins. They're nice guns and all, but they were a common, production gun. There's no reason for them to be valued among the Westwoods of the world.

I sold a regular eclipse cocker a few months ago for $700, just think they are making a small cone back...again. I wanted to buy Ravi's Westwood, but got beat to the punch, I would have spent over 2K for it. Some classic guns are worth spending the money because they aren't produced anymore, look at the Ducks and even the Entity Matix - that was mass produced gun, just gussied up. The GMAX shocker I just sold went for 5X what a shocker normally goes for.

None of the values for the other guns you mentioned have inexplicably doubled in the last few months without any precipitating event. That's what I call a bubble.
And I'd hardly call the Entity mass-produced. They made, what, 17? Compared to the hundreds upon hundreds of Evos? Don't get me wrong; they're great guns. But as a collector and something of a 'cocker connoisseur, I think $1k+ is unreasonable. I have a bad habit of buying markers left and right at times, and I don't have the least bit of temptation to snag one of those guns at those prices.

The Entity is based off a mass produced gun - the DM series - 14 were made - just special milling etc....I think the Evo's will hover around the 1K mark for quite sometime. seeing as there are fewer and fewer "stock" ones being offered up. I agree that they are high, it's just what the market wants right now. I've had some pretty rare cockers, the Evo isn't on that list of rare lol. I like the older, rarer, unique guns as well - not one for the latest and greatest hehe
Hopefully the bubble bursts though, I've gotten rid of the majority of my cockers and want to buy a bunch more - Evo prices going down will drive down the prices of some of the other guns I want lol

Entity to Evo is a fine apples to apples argument if you you only mean to say that both are PL variants of mass-produced markers; it just doesn't take into consideration the exclusivity/rarity factor that accompanies a run of 17 versus a run of many hundreds over the years. For those reasons alone, I would expect a significant disparity in valuation. Despite the recent surge, I feel that supply and demand will eventually begin to reduce the going rate for an Evo to pre-spike (or just above pre-spike) levels.
As far as 'cockers go, I'm reasonably content with my current spread, which IIRC consists of a Carter 'cocker, P&P custom, P&P Supercocker, BPS Twister (gen1), BPS Twister (clamshell), and a new style Inline Merlin. Wouldn't mind a 90's Evo or Eclipse in a nice splash, a non-chrome Kapp Flame or old Razorback in a nice ano pattern, maybe a Ripper, maybe another Merlin or Revenge, perhaps a Danny Love custom, or whatever other nifty piece of history catches my eye.

I hate you right now....I've always wanted a Twister - but by the time I see them up for grabs, either I just bought a gun, or someone beats me to the punch lol. And a Ripper.

I restored this one...
...from the ground up a year or two ago. It was a solid blue color with mismatched, anachronous components and a frame that had been drilled in the back, presumably for access to the trigger overtravel adjustment screw. I ditched the frame and other jank and did it right, 90's style.

Hah, yeah, saw that. I'm most likely doing my DSP in that same pattern. Curious to see how well my buddy's work will stack up against that one.

I saw that one on ebay and kinda laughed at the price. I was looking for a nice custom pump autococker and i saw that one. I have seen some crazy expensive autocockers here recently
