so my friend and I went out paintballing, me on my AWESOME mini and him in my old Piranha marker. i tested out the marker at home, and it seemed to work fine, but we went out and the dang thing kept breaking balls! it would coat the whole barrel and chamber and hopper, he shot off like 10 balls before it ended up just completely out of order. OH and on top of that the velocity wouldn't change at all! It was shooting a bit fast so i un screwed the velocity adj. like all the way out and it was still shooting the same speed. screwed it all the way in and it was the same story.

well A) its a piranha, not known for the highest quality markers by any means

B) im suspecting it was a little on the colder side considering it is January and it is a STBB, not the easiest on paint

C) id try replacing the spring for the velocity, also, check to make sure the internal bits are actually placing more or less tension on the spring when you turn the knob. i have seen it where those get stripped and are turning but not actually adjusting the spring at all

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that makes a firearm better makes a paintball marker worse. They are 2 very different worlds with nothing except a trigger in common

I wouldn't even change the spring. It sounds like nothing is working with the Piranha. Using a STBB in January... That will happen. Making huge changes the velocity so quickly is not good for the marker (or at least the spring that you are compressing). Next time make small adjustments and give it a couple of shots to adjust velocity.

ok, i think the guns just messed up. when i pull the bolt back and pull the trigger without any air the bolt slams forward. i think the tension is too much. i might try cutting out a spring link or 2...I aired up this JT tac 5 gun, used 5yr old paint and it shot better! it was colder that day too, i think the fish is done, also anyone have any tips on bag of paint that has paint all over the balls? cleaning the balls. i took the time to take out each individual ball and wipe it down good with a paper towel and its taking waaaay to long! not to mention in about 2hrs i put into it i have cleaned maybe 35 balls

pour them out onto a towel and roll them around. It's a much faster way.

Gotta say put them in a towel
find the broken ball(s)
Remove them
Clean them in smaller groups of around 10-25 or so or whatever you think a good number is fine
