DW is making 2 piece barrels now
Deadlywind releasing Fibur-X carbon fiber paintball barrel
the price is still kinda high though. I have no idea if they'll still use freak inserts.

But, why bother? It defeats the purpose of using an insert if you use a barrel adapter.

so you don't have to buy different barrels; instead you can just buy new adapter backs?
this seems redundant; i hope this picture is a fake

looks fairly legit. agreed. on redundant uselessness... but i guess it saves on buying a barrel for each marker.... but it might as well be a null

I'd guess the insert fits in the adapter as well.

which is what they say is going to happen. I'm not sure how, as my inserts don't stick out of my barrel at all

A shallower bored section in the mainbarrel. It will always require the use of one of those short barrel backs.

ohhhh, I see now that the barrel is different. I thought they were just selling back parts. In order to make use of this I would have to buy an entirely new barrel.

exactly, this isnt an adapter like we are used to seeing. classic adaptors the paintball leaves the breach ---> into the adapter (where it can touch the walls) ---> into the barrel
this is breach---> insert with the adapter on the outside of the insert
really its a pretty clever idea, this way DW only has to make 1 barrel for every marker and sell them with different adapters
it probably adds a little weight but hey, now if you have a mix of threads you dont need multiple fiburs
really though they should have thought this up before 90% of the market was cocker threaded already

adds 5 grams of extra weight. That's a deal breaker.
