XSV lid mod- While assembled open the lid and heat the outer rim of the lid with a lighter. Using a flathead screw driver bend the lid back slightly. Be careful not to bend too much plastic or the lid won’t close fully. This makes it so that if you swipe your hand over the top of the egg it pops open.
Do you guys think this would help?

Couldn't hurt.
But even better:
Use this stencil to cut out a plastic speed feed and replace the door with. Works great with any thinner, flexible plastic, like 2 gallon milk containers, or soda bottles, or similar. Make a few for when one breaks, just replace.

It has been a while since I have touched my egg, but if the lid works how I think it does...
The only reason it would be sticking like that is if the tab that "locks" it in place is too big. If thats how it works, you should be able to sand it down or cut it down a little bit. I will find it in a little bit and tell you if I find otherwise.
Edit- Yep, thats how they work. You can look at it to make sure it looks normal; no burrs or abnormalities. Just slowly sand it down or cut it down. Of course, if you do too much it will not lock shut. That being said, I don't know if you can find spare lids anymore. So you need to be aware of that.

Hey guys sanded it down while waiting for the bus. Its not to bad now still needs a little more sanding. I shaves off the whole tab on the lid and it still needs more.

If you've taken the entire tab off...
I'd begin to wonder if the tab was the issue, or if you're catching elsewhere on the door/lid/hopper/etc.

It was only the tab sticking. I could run my knife around the lid and nothing was catching only the tab. But why is the tab sticking so much that I have to sand off almost completely.

I wouldn't sand any more. They are made to be stiff to open, so it doesn't accidentally open. As long as you can open it up with one hand, it is how it should be.

I can open one handed but I have to put to fingers by latch and pull up. I'll just try it like this for awhile

Over time after using it a bunch it will wear its self and become easier to open also.
