ViewLoader Evolution 2
Hey guys I'm back. Just upgraded to all new stuff. I picked up a Spyder Fenix, Evolution 2 hopper, invert avatar mask, and a 12 inch cp barrel. Im going to be doing about 1/2 speed ball and 1/2 woods ball now. I'm happy with everything I bought except my hopper. I was wanting a halo too but i was out of cash, and found a egg 2 for about 30 bucks used and in good condition on Ebay. It's a little louder then what I want it to be, is there anyway to quiet it down?

It should be coming in the mail tomorrow and I'll try it out myself. But from all the videos I've watched on youtube it sounds kinda noisey, I would say the motor is louder then the paddles. The hopper dose cut off for sure after you quit shooting? also for future upgrade what would be better a halo B or halo too? and whats the difference?

They use two different methods of identifying when paint is in the breech.
The Too uses ears to listen for when you shoot - and then agitates and force-feeds balls into the ballstack.
The B uses eyes to see if there is paint in the ball stack - and until there is paint in the ball stack it'll agitate and load them into the ballstack queue.
As far as what is better-depends on the application. I prefer ears...because eyes get dirty- though i fire louder poppet and spool markers. Someone firing something quieter may have better luck with eyes.
As far as the noise stuff goes - i suppose you could change the gearing ratio or pulley size ratio - though this will work the motor harder..etc. Had some success doing this with my Halo Too...but if its motor noise - largely no. If its slosh.. I think Borg had a video he posted about how to pad the inside of your hopper using craft foam and templates to help absorb the "paint-on-plastic" noise. WHile I won't personally do it... its an option.
But again - what Martix said... that hopper really is only going to turn on while you're shooting.

Halo Too. Halo B was the "standard" for many years. The Too has a newer generation raceway (less jams), sound activated instead of eyes (I prefer sound), has a more durable shell (still not indestructible, but more durable than the Halo Too shells), and is still actively made.
As far as the one thing Dprimmy brought up since we posted nearly the same time, I shoot a DM9 and a PM8 (both incredibly quiet markers) and neither one has any issues feeding on the stock settings on a Halo Too.

It depends on the quality of the batteries and how much your're shooting and how old the batteries are etc. Just carry spares in your gearbag and you will be able to tell when the batteries are getting low when the motor starts to sound like it's struggling or not keeping up.

The Spyder ones won't last overly long (they're only 170 MaH), but they'll work just fine.

I'd have to look when I get home to see the batteries I like. They're 230 MaH 9.6v NiMH batteries. I also have some 500 MaH LiIon 9v that I like, but they were a bit more expensive.

Bad. Very much back heavy, and it just gets worse the fuller the hopper is.

I'm starting to regret buying this hopper before it even arrives. Wish I just saved up for a halo too.
