ya iv just never seen it tried, seems like a decent idea as long as there were A)knuckles and maybe gaps in the snake, and they would have to be on both sides and B) an insert/back of snake bunker so someone could lane into the snake.
I feel like you would not have as many snake battles since players on opposing teams would have to shoot onto the other side of the snake to get one another but I think it might also be interesting to see players from one side going over the snake and then automatically being behind a player who is in the snake on the other team
the 2012 phoenix layout is what we tried to model it towards. I feel like the one I played on was a bit more exaggerated than that one. It didn't go all the way across the field though. Video-On-Demand | SMP | PaintballAccess.com
I feel like on a 200 foot field, there's no way you can get breaks on people from one end to the other. I also don't think there's going to be much to stop people from making it to any rollie, even though there's 10 players. That center rollie in front of home could turn out to be a very strong bunker, even though you can't see the middle of the field. use it to lock down the sides of the field.
ya i think your right martix, there is really no good way to lane that rollie off the break. But for 10-man I think that may work out alright, have someone tuck in there and then fill out as needed later on
the snake rollie doesn't look like it can be laned. perhaps if you cross it up from the other side of the field, but that's about it. Dorito side definitely had a lane, but it's so far that I dont' think you're going to get anything but bounces.
love the set up but i think the field is too big. i dont think off the break shooting is going to be worth it. i think this is going to provide alot of movement on the field though. the lanes are decent, kinda bad in most spots but the snake on this field definiatly dominates that half so it will become very useful for the team to get a player or two in there every round
I think that it'd be tough to get enough people together on a team to play on this field. Honestly, my team is having a tough enough time getting 10 committed people to play for a 5 man, let alone practice. I think that they should open stuff up like this for walk ons!
