CO2 Leak

I have a spyder Xtra, and i just got the CO2 refilled. when I went to screw the cartrage back in, i heard a leaking sound (like when u open a soda bottle). I looked around the gun, and found I needed to cock it. I set it down for about 1-2min. When I came back, there was white smoke comming out of the trigger area. I quickly unscrewed the CO2.

Does anyone know what's wrong here, and/or how to fix it?

Thanks.

Well... That is a good question. I had a similar problem. But not in the trigger, yet in the handle. I went to the nearest paintball shop and they put teflon tape around the leakage area.

Yeah replace the O-rings. I would also look into some teflon tape.

Well, I was experimenting with it, and I found that the problem is not with the O-Ring, or the Tank. It has something to do with the cocker I guess. Up near the cocker is where the sound is comming out, and where the worst smell is. I also put teflon tape around the threads of the cartrage.

Listen to the feed port for PBs..... (never the barrel of a charged gun!) If it sounds like the hiss is coming from inside the gun it will either be the O-rings on the valve or the cup seal (more likely). You can get to the cup seal easily by removing the vertical adapter which is the part that the front grip/expansion chamber screws in. Be careful to hold it while removing the screws since it is under spring pressure from the valve spring. Once you take it off you will have access to the valve spring, cupseal, valve pin, and pin stabilizer. replace the white plastic part screwed onto the pin and you should be set. (assuming that the leak is coming down the barrel)
