senario guns... you guys are as bad as liberals against guns.

Pethetic. There is nothing wrong with senario guns.
i'm sorry im not flaming you anti-senario gun people, but stop and think about it. It's still just a paintball gun, its still playing PAINTBALL.

My 2nd hobby is paintball, I mostly shoot "real" guns. Hunting or target comp. I think scenario guns are great, they look much better then most other markers that look like over glorified water guns, although I have a spider imagine I wouldn’t mind a nice armotech. As for movies like 8 mile I think stupid ass kids get great ideas and then shoot people walking around in the streets, thats not only against the law you could blind some one for life.

my 2 cents.

Anyone who doesn't know anythign about paintball and sees a scenario gun isn't going to think much,. It looks like a squirt gun on steroids with a tank and hopper on it. Looks like a child's toy. I like full scale guns. I'm just going to not comment anymore.. I just don't know how to put it into words. Fanboy. Your a speedball fanboy. Thats all you are.

things that give paintball a bad name piss me off, like 8 mile and this one episode of reno 911. I also read this article in an action pursuit games magazine that really pissed me off, I'll post it here.

Research: it's what seperates professional journalism from gossip.
"To be sure, boys who once would have thought nothing about pelting each other with BB guns are today picking up the kid version of a .50 caliber Howitzer: the 320-feet-per-second paintball gun, or 'marker.'" --Patrik Jonsson, Christian Science Monitor, Boston, Massachusetts, February 5, 2004.
Never mind that Howitzer cannons are 155mm, not .50 caliber (a difference of, oh, 5.7 inches of bore diameter). And that paintballs are .68 caliber, which is not even close to .50. And that paintball field speed limits are internationally capped at 300 feet per second.
"8:27 p.m. A motorist on Madrona reported a BB or a paintball shattered to windshield of her car."-Police Report, the Orange County Register, California, January 9, 2004.
Windshields are made to withstand rocks hitting them at highway speeds. Paintballs split open on impact with a hard surface. Police field reports indicate that 9mm service pistol bullets routinely fail to penetrate windshields. Yup, sounds like a paintball could "shatter" this windshield, sure does. No doubt. Honest.
"A couple of years ago, we had an individual shot by one (paintball), and it took a substantial amount of tissue out of his leg," said Lt. Robert Levendoske, Wood County Sheriff's Department in Wisconsin. -- The Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, January 14th 2004.
We've all been shot by paintballs. I've never lost a substantial amount of tissue from my leg. Or any tissue from anywhere. You?

Everything i just posted was part of an article i read in my magazine and there was more but not much of anything important... anyway this article really pissed me off cuz it's **** like this that might actually make states ban paintball.

I once saw .68" steel marbles on ebay. There's only one thing those could be intended for. I emailed the seller and told him to go f*** himself and stop selling stuff that will give paintball a bad reputation.

I dont' know anyone that's either seen paintball in action or played it that hasn't thought differently afterwards. If all these idiots would just actually do some real research into the sport they'd find it no more dangerous than a ghey game of curling.

Actually, I haven’t seen that movie in some time, but I do believe they’re using a ProCarbine. Which is NOT a scenario marker. That brings up the question, do you even know what a scenario marker is? Or better yet, have you ever played scenario ball?

Listen, there is nothing bad about scenario ball. All of this talk that scenario ball gives paintball a bad name has about as much truth to it as cramming food up your anus makes you crap out your mouth. (Had to get the SP reference in ) Paintball companies are starting to see a shift in the paintball world. No longer are people flocking to speedball, they’re flocking to big games and scenarios. That’s where the money is, hence, that’s where they go!

This is what gets me so upset with some Paintballers. Why is it that so many of you guys believe paintball can only live in one form, and that is the form that you play? Stop being ignorant and talking about things you have no knowledge of. Who ever started this whole "Scenario Ball is going to be the death of paintball!" Is so thick headed and backwards.

To answer the original question, movies ruin paintball in the public eye.

A couple things...

Paintball markers have a certain reputation because, like all devices that launch cheap projectiles at high speeds, they can be used to damage people or property. The fact that the media dispays this truth does not change the paintball marker one way or the other.. it's still the same, the only difference is the person behind it.

Also, a paintball can definately break a weak glass pane.. or two.

.68 Marbles could kill someone, as i recall, cross bows fire at around 300 FPS.
so I would think a .68 shot to the head could kill someone.,
