Positive Paintball exposure
I was thinking on the toilet today, like I usually do. And I thought, like all of us, that paintball needs a positive exposure to the world. I had to stop and explain to a cop that paintball guns can't shoot bullets or BBs and are perfectly legal.. Which isn't right.
In another thread someone mentioned that in pre 9/11 you could bring a paintball marker carryon almost no problem. Now its hard enough just to get one in a suitcase.
Someone really needs to take the final step and just make a short commercial or ad campaign or ad just explaining WHAT paintball has evolved to. ITs no longer a few fat guys in the woods playing war. Its a sport, but its an udnerground sport. Which is pretty sad, ebcuase I think EVERYONe should paintball. Its great in almost every aspect. Teachs coordination, gives you a workout, gets rid of some of that anger (DIE LITTLE 12 YEAR OLDS!), and is overall fun in every way.
I wish I could but I dont have the brains the will the software hardware or the money to do so. I wish a paintball company would make a movie. Someone should seriously team up with some big movie industry and just make a badass movie.
EDIT: A movie, might I add, that isn't just about a team kickign ass in a tourney or two, but about all aspects of paintball. From teh woods in 1981 to the local X-ball field down the street.

I have seen a couple news stories about paintball. About how it is healthy and builds teamwork.
There is a paintball movie out. 'Blackballed' is the title, it's an independant film so you won't see it at the theater.
I really wish that there was more out there to show the safeness and the sport side of it. Paintball is still known as a mil-sim thing.

I wish I worked at some big paintball company. Then I'd make a paintball movie, then get sued by SP. lol, but yeah, someone should seriously make a history of Paintball, and put it in the theatres and on CBS or something

Yeah, I mean that would be pretty kick ass.
I would want the world to see how safe and effective paintball can be, but on the other hand, do you really want paintball to be non-underground? I mean think about it, it would be like those kids that all carry around skateboards but dont know how to ollie. I like how paintball is underground, but I dont want it to have a negative impact on the public.
Its sad, because people think paintball is such a dangerous sport. In reality, it is safer than football, soccer, even baseball. The only injury in paintball that sticks out to my mind is a quarter sized welt. Very rarely will you hear about someone cracking eight ribs, or snapping their femur in two, or getting kneed in the face and having teeth knocked out.
I mean, in hockey (not bashing it, i love hockey) refs LET the players try to kill each other when they fight. In hockey, one of the main aspects is trying to nail your opponent thru a glass wall. And the whole time people sit there and cheer. Now paintball, your main objective, in a nutshell, is basically to hit someone with an enlarged, round tylenol gel cap from 30 feet away. HOW IS THAT DANGEROUS?!?!
But you are right, WGP or Dye or Spyder or NPS or someone should make a commercial stating how their products are safe, and how good paintball can be for a person. I think it would really make people take a second look at the sport.

You see some guy in a wheelchair with a neck brace and two broken legs. "Hi my nam eis... And I'm an avid paintballer, and I'm reminding you that paitball is the safest sport out there!" Then he spits out a tooth.
Heh, but yeah.. I think evil would eb good candidates. Becuase if eviel did it, there would be monkeys and if there were monkeys you could use music from the Gorillaz, which are gorillaz, but still they're hairy and scratch their asses so they're cool.

i think it would help (not pointing any fingers but at myself) if we didnt start all these arguments on the forum. people come on see em and think everyones an assholio. i know i did this in my AGG thread and im sorry. im newbie to paintball yes i know, i dont think im better than anyone else or that im right and you arent, but the older or more experienced or "AGG" players think we do. and some do. i absolutely hate being a newbie around here it is terrible. and it nearly never stops. i want to learn and i want to understand everything about paintball i love this sport! i get an adrenalyn rush thinking about it. please understand you were a newbie once too, and im sure the people who didnt treat you with a little respecet you didnt like either. so why try and be one? this is how so many arguments start.
