Hi, Im new in the forum and I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I have a school proyect and I have to build an air gun, but for my design I need some kind of air tank that can realese tha air with some kind of electronic signal or voltage. So my question is, do you know of any type of tank that has this specification or something similar that i could use.
Only thing I can think of is an On/Off adapter running through a Co2 or a HPA tank. can I ask why it has to be released electronically?
School project my arse, he's trying to nuke us all!
Pretty much your choices have been set before you. I'd suggest a remote coil, but then that doesn't leave it to be discharged electroniclly now does it?
well if u want to get techy u can do what i did, regulate ur air, or use an air pump that doesnt go over 150psi, the go to ur local lowes and pick up a sprinkler valve, rig it up to a few 9volts so it gets the power it says it needs on the box, then put a air chamber on one side and a barrel on the other, depending on what kind of valve u get, some have a remote control used to open it, some have a red switch on the side, and others have a button, look into this first, i can try to help if u want, good luck

Thanks to all of you that have answerd. I think I´ll check about the selenoid valve. But if you know about something else I´ll appreciate it.
For those that want to know, what I have to do is hit a toy car that is in a circular course, so the gun has to catch up with the car (measuring the car´s speed with a pair of sensors). So that´s why I think that with compressed air I will have no delay problems when shooting the car.
its solenoid no solanoid but w/e and I dunno how your gonna get a solenoid to work or at least one from a pb gun.
And its solenoid valve not solenoid, but its really a moot point.
So the air-gun has to be built from scratch? It can not contain any paintball-related parts? if it could, you could EASILY rig up a remote-controlled trigger to a cheap $90 electro-spyder.
If it has to be from scratch, the EASIEST way to do it would be to get 2 generic 100psi solenoid valves (about $15 each). A cocker sledge ($5), and a homemade pvc barrel/feed rig (~$10).
Wire the noids in reverse, so releasing the trigger fills the dump, and pulling releases the dump into the barrel.
The breech won't be sealed, but your probobly not concerned with effeciency.
A much better idea is to also get a clippard ram for $10, and some sort of bolt (pvc, etc). You can tap the primary noid to drive the ram, and this will allow you to seal the breech everytime you fire.
This is the basic "spool-valve" setup, and is BY FAR the easiest gun to make "in your garage". As above, its easy to rig up a remote trigger using something like an electric car starter.

It doesnt has to be from scratch. It can have any kind of paintball related parts, the only thing is I need a way so that using a microcontroller (sending an electric pulse or a certain amount of voltage) i can activate the trigger and fire in the exact time. Do you know a web site where they sale remote-controlled triggers? Maybe I can adapt that.
Thanks again for your help, and any more ideas are welcome.
Get a cheap micro RC car or soemthign and take the motor out of the RC car, and hook the positive and negative wires to an electric trigger for a pball marker. When you press forward on the Radio Controller, the marker will fire. You might even get full auto out of that.. Not sure. You should get at least one good cycle out of it
