Wal-mart knows NOTHING about paintball. The only way you can sell paintball gear commercially should be if your a trained airsmith. I hate how they try to impress me by saying they took the burst disc off their CO2 tank with their bare hands to cool off their car...
I mean, I have nothign with the products they sell, its just who they sell it to and what they tell them about it. It would be better if they didn't 'teach' anybody anythign about paintball.
God damn. Thsi one idiot told me he bought a Dye Nitro tank and sold it becuase it was too heavy and he liked his 9 ounce CO2 on his angel better.
I repeat myself, anyone that commercially sells paintball gear should HAVE to know what they're doing.
haha! yeah having trained airsmiths or at the least semi-experienced players would be alot cooler but i never shop for anything at walmart anyway except for stuff like ghetto paint, o-rings, and oil.

Most of the time you're pretty smart, but now you're being stupid. If it weren't for walmart, a lot of new people would never get started, and a lot of poor people without the money for the better stuff would never get started. the people at my wal mart don't say that stupid stuff, they simply admit that they know nothing about it.
i agree entirely with alpha. walmart sucks at everything, and no one knows what they are doing. it's rediculous(sp). same with sports authority and dicks and everywhere else like that. they all suck at paintball
but yeah...it does help some people get into the sport. but still, there is always the internet for that...
I agree, we should start a petition.
About what outlaner said, It's true that some new players won't come in to the sport, anyone that really wants to play will find a pro shop, and buy something from there. Even they have cheap guns.
Also, I'm willing to bet that if the big fat know nothing chain stores stopped selling paintball guns, dumbasses doing drive bys with their talons will decline dramatically.
First of all, Wal-Mart doesn't care if anyone thinks they should sell Pb stuff. Wal-mart knows that there is a market out there for it, and they can turn a profit from it.
Secondly, commerical competition is what makes this country great. Capitalism was founded on the principle of selling what you want and buying what you need. If Wal-mart starts selling stuff, and figures out how to sell good stuff, then they will in turn be able to sell that good stuff for a lower price. We as consumers in turn will benefit by not having to pay 60 bucks for a good case of paint from the pro-shop, because Wal-mart will have it (eventually - we hope) for $45.
Now, as far as maintenance and repairs, I agree, Wal-mart is NOT the place to go. But I wouldn't take my digital camera there to get fixed either. It's not where you go to have that sort of stuff done. That's where those experts come in.
If you're a smart consumer, you read up on things and know what you want before you even walk into the door of any store. Whoever sells it more conviently (availability, distance, price) wins, VIOLA - Capitalism.
Personally, If Wal-mart has the electronic hopper I want for 20 bucks less than my local proshop, I don't really care, I'm buying it at Wal-mart.

Galyans knows there stuff but there so dang OVERPRICED, and the only thing ive gotten at walmart(that has to do with paintball) was 1000 paintballs to mess around with, i usually get the good stuff but i just got cheap paint since i want going to be playing with it
I think outlander made a legit point. Alot of people do get their first marker from wal-mart... though it may suck, and the employees there know next to nothing about paintball... it still contributes to the game. I try to not get irritated with newbs or morons that say dumb things, just correct them and then they know, if they dont take what you tell them seriously... then **** it and move on. Personally I'd never shop for anything at wal-mart, espically paintball equiptment but... thats because I know better places to get it.

Did he add "In his face" afterwards?

ya i know my first gun was a crappy Brass Eagle, a lot of people wouldnt be in the sport if it wasnt for places like walmart though, because otherwise u have to spend a lot more money at a proshop when your still new to the sport

WAL-MART is a DISCOUNT RETAILER. The employees exist solely to show you where things are, and to make sure you don't steal.
If they know anything about the product, thats a bonus BUT NOT EXPECTED.
Seriously, who would expect otherwise?
Should Walmart stop selling computers because the employees can't program them?
Should walmart stop selling ceiling fans because the employees can't install them?
THIS IS NOT SEARS. This is Walmart. The goal is to sell things as cheaply as possible.
I am amazed that Walmart sells those spyder clones for $40 or so. The same gun 14 years ago would have cost $400. The technology gap these days IS MUCH, MUCH smaller then it was back thing. The entry level guns are not much different then high-end guns.
Anyway, I like walmart, and I hope it keeps selling PB stuff. I feel sorry for anyone who goes there expecting expert advice though. All the products come with consumer information telephone numbers.
