Nick may hop in and correct me, but I'm pretty sure the Ranger was before the Sniper, although WGP continued to sell both for a time. And the Sniper is not a "lameass cocker", it is the forerunner of the Cocker. A Cocker is just a self-cocking Sniper.
That I know of, WDP has never shown any interest in pump, past, present, or future.

I don't know, I wouldn't shell out the cash for a sniper II, but if they are good then what can I say?

I think my ccm cost something like 600 bucks and I felt like it was worth every penny. and its not a lameass cocker like teq said autocockers are lameass compared to the sniper 2.

Bubba, I agreed the sniper II might be a better gun then I was giving it credit for.. Trying to sway me, when I was already swayed? I just don't like the looks of the sniper II compared to regular cockers.

How many shots do you get from pumping it, do you have to pump between every shot?

Now wait up, what I'm saying is that they have stock looking markers. The Vertical Cocker 03 version has a stock pump looking peice. But yet it isn't stock. Understood?

Here is the rough chronology:
1987: WGP released the Sniper pump, which is basically an upgrade kit for the PGP. (It used a PGP grip and valve).
1988: wGP released the Sniper-2 pump. Looks similar to the Sniper, but many upgrades (ie sight-rail, removable-bolt, extruded, etc).
1989: WGP released the Ranger pump. A generic nelson-clone (which were super-popular at the time). The main difference to other nelson-clones was it took a sniper/pgp style grip. Plus, unlike Snipers, it had an autotrigger (important for tournaments)
1990: WGP released the "Sniper Autococker" semi. It was literally a Sniper-2 pump, with pneumatics ADDED. Not much has changed since 1990, though they were VERY UNPOPULAR originally due to the complexity. The "sniper" name was dropped around 1992.
1992: WGP released "Minicocker" and "Sniper-3". The Sniper-3 was a smaller version of the Sniper-2 (cut block, asa, pump, etc). The minicocker was the Sniper-3 with pneumatics added. Neither were popular, and eventually phased out.
Something like that.
Anyway, why don't more play pump? Because you can buy decent semis for about $40. There are lots of reasons to play pump. Some like the challenge, and some like to "relive the old days".
I do like playing pump, but I HATE 12grams. I hated them in the 80s, and I still hate them. So, I don't play "stock" very often, unless I and totally out of paint.
Nick
