why don't more play pump

now if you have a crazy ramping gun and a paint sponership ( sp?) just leave now.

my reasons

1 less paint less money to play
2 hones your skills. it true if you can only shoot a few while some one else is trying to mow you down, you will get better.....eventually
3 more compact profile. even with a dye drop oin my gun it still has half the profile of most semis
4 its just more fun, more adrenalin

discuss

also if you have never even played with a pump and you auto dis it, your just a fagget

I've actually never played with a pump, but I really want to try it. If anybody has a pump gun and they just want to get rid of it.... I'l take it.

And anybody who disses pumps, the CCM team rocks with the pumps, so SHUTUP.

Simple, more people don't play with pump because they believe, and I laugh at everyone I see who posts this, "The more paint you throw out, the more likely you are to hit them!" Here is an idea, next person that posts that question them, "So, if I'm pointing in the completely opposite direction, just cause I'm throwing out 50,000bps that means I'll have a chance to hit you?" That statement, "the more..." is often one mentioned by newbs who are trying to make up for their poor aim, or lack of other qualities, to make them sound cool. Doesn't matter how much paint you fling, it only takes one to take a guy out. Give me a low bps gun, and better aim, over poor aim and high bps anyday.

for just rec play pump is awesome. I was thinkin of buying a phantom, but didnt wanna fork out the cash for it. But if you're in a tourney, playing with a pump will give u a huge disadvantage

Wasn't there like a semi-big team that only played pumps in big tournys?

Pumps are ok, I used to have a pump. I just got tired of pumping after each shot. But then again the pump gun i had was not very good, so if i were to use a good pump, i might change my views towards a pump. Pumps bring a different aspect out of u, when paintballing.

poor aim has little to do with slinging lots of paint. I personally have played pump my entire time as a player. The first gun I shot was a nightmare pump and i didn't understand its cool factor untill I later got into pump hard core.

Pump is the best training tool avalible to paintball players. I could play a few rounds with a pump and then switch out to one of my paint slingers matrix alias what ever I am using at the time. So after a few rounds with a pump I feel like I have twice the power with a semi again. You use the skills you learn with a pump to go on to tourney play as well PUMP IS NOT for rec and woods players only.

the idea that the chiply team is proof...well as far as I know they don't even play pump hard core let alone win like they had in the past. They all use j2s sure but they use the eversion talk to weezel about this cause I dont' know I don't live it.

Shooting in bulk has become the game to win in tournements you need to shoot paint. Pump or even stock players do not win by taking one shot one kills in speed ball they win by using it conservativly. So if you have the ability to shoot 5 balls in that second they shoot two and insure that both go in the right place. You can play speed ball with the mental picture that you will wait for the right shot each time. A phantom is great for a front player. small compact tiny profile and when you bunker you can drop to a knee and slide in while auto triggering sure you can fail but its all so small and light you can do great things.
If you search my posts youll see im a huge fan of pump play. but there are certain ways of play that doesn't do justice. If you are pumping because you want to snipe and only use one shot than in my opinion you are in for the wrong reasons. You should be playing pump because you want to experience something harder more extreme and more fun. I find that I am just jumping with excitment after a good pump round.

Cooper, technically you are more likely you are to hit them the more paint you spew. You are jsut less likely to hit them with one particaulr ball in that spray. If i shoot 15 balls at you, I have 15 chances to hit you. If one ball hits you, I only shot aroudn 7%. With a pump, you may only get 2 or 3 bps, meaning while I have 15 chances to hit you, in the same time, you have only 3 chances to hit me. But if you do hit mw once, you shot 33%. A better percentage but you don;t give yourself an equal opportunity to hit me as I give myself to hit you by shooting 12 more bps. It's like a raffle ticket, the more you put in the better chance you have to win. Don't worry though, I do agree that if you have no skills it doesn't matter how many you shoot, you gotta be able to put the shots somewhere.

Playing pump is a great way to become a better player. For you guys thinking about getting into pump play, check out my Basic/advanced pump strategies thread. In I list several ways that firing less can be an advantage.

Yes, I exagerated my first post slightly, but, there was truth in it. BPS doesn't make the player, its his own skill, and ability.

I now have converted to pump play, and I highly doubt I'll ever go back into the tourney scene because pump is just all around more fun.
