Omfg
My dad is starting to piss me off...im talking to him about buying a marker and he goes off on me saying, why do you wanna spend 600 bucks on a marker when you pay 50 bucks on paintball's and go through them in 3 min
now i told him that that isnt likly to happen wit me b/c 2000 balls goes a long way with me.. he thinks that im going to shoot 18 bps (haha thats a joke)
and wast my money. But get this im always hearing him say get off your butt and do somthing while im playing video games.. but he says you could get a new game and spend hours and hours on it when you can spend 50 bucks on 2000 painbtalls and play for Quote 3 min Unquote wtf is going on..
im really mad at him for what he just said to me a couple of seconds ago, I would have thought he would have agreed with me on playing pb and getting excersise instead of sitting on my bum.
Another thing is that he never played paintball. And personally when I play I think the game is worth every penny i spend, its an adrenalin rush and everything you could imagine. But he still says that a 14 year old kid such as myself should be reading books (More sitting on my bum strainging my eyes on little words) and spending your money on other stuff (didnt say what)
But what i want to know is why he is getting all up in my face about money when i have nothing better to do with it? and its MY MONEY NOT HIS!
Now do any of you guys or girls have or had any of the same problems??
if so how did you deal with them??
Thanks in advance
Nick

Yup, best way is just sit down and explain to him how you feel. Don't yell, dont talk down to him, REALLY talk to him and just tell him whats going on. Make sure he knows its your money and making mistakes is what you really learn from. If it is a mistake that is. Just tell him how he would feel if he was the only one of his buddies from work driving an oldddd slow car, and he was the only one with an uber outdated computer and if if has a boat, make fun of him for that. Its pretty easy as long as you come off mature and rational.

Yea, i know what you mean. its just that i know where the parents are comin from(im 13) b/c they have learned from experience, and so have I. my moms has tried to save me, and i insistted i would alwys us whatever it was. i figure ive wasted a couple hundred dollars that i coulda saved by listenin to my mom. trust me hes just lookin out for ya. I wasnt as lucky b/c my mom said ok, but your gonna learn to use money and be disciplined financialy, maybe not like that but you know what i mean. ykwim you know what i mean... so just explain to him your love of paintball, invite him to go, and say," at least im not spendin your money using 2000 balls in 3 minutes. This is the only enjoyment i got, and excercise, so please lemme buy my marker and whatever else you might wanna add

i would take him to go play. my dad was against paintball till i took him to play. and now he is still strict about what i buy, but atleast he doesnt just say no. now i can actually sit down and talk with him about it, without being told no when he hears paintball.
btw the last part was an exageration

im in that exact situation and i have found a solution. my mom doesnt really care what i buy so i always talk to her about it and shes like "dont tell this to your father" but atleast she can take the blame if he finds out and then ur out of trouble. try it it works

Dont let your harmones get to you. I worked things out with my mom. MY mom controls my stepdad so its okay. I brought up paintball a lot and I'd drop a few htings to her.. Like I told her about picking paint up off the floor... I think she actually understands the difference between HPA and CO2 too.
Just educate them little by little. If it doesn't work, I dont know what to sya.

Back when I was a kid I always lived by the theory "Its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission"

ive had these problems before. trust me, you are not the only kid whose parents dont let you buy guns. remember, when you feel like you have a problem, multiply it by 10 and thats probablly what someone else has to put up with. however if and when you get a new gun you can shoot your parents with it for even hesitating about letting you buy it
