To Spend or Not to Spend...A Dilemma
So here I am, sitting in the computer lab, seriously considering buying either a new Proto 05 4 pod harness (old one is Dye Attack pack, and it's in OH) for $40 flat and/or spending money on a custom sublimated jersey to replace my old one (Dye).
Thing is, the new jersey shipped with sublimation and all, would cost about $70, but sooner or later I'll have to spend money to get both anyway. Right now I have about 265 availible to spend total.
The killer: my dad, being the overprotective parent he is, watches all my bank account activity at home in OH so any huge purchase like that would sure to bring a phone call to my humble dorm room.
What to do? What excuse to use (aka what did I buy instead of paintball gear, deemed "not vital") to my rents and explain a big hole in my bank account (I've paid off everything important, don't ever spend money anyway)?
Respond quick- the jerseys are almost outta stock and I gotta order today if I'm gonna get it anytime soon (sublimation takes a bit longer).
tl;dr
Buying about $120 worth of pb stuff, dunno if I should, need excuse to tell my 'rents what I spent it on.

Tell your parents you had the money and that you found a good deal that won't last much longer. Also say how you knew that you were going to need to buy it sooner or later and you decided that it would be better that you got a good deal on it now, and have it, then get it at the last minute for more money.

Naw, textbooks were all bought the first week of semester so I'm all set. I'm still waiting for someone to buy three books leftover from last semester which would actually fill in that hole significantly.
(If someone has any good textbook buyback places post them so I can get those suckers outta my room and money back in my pocket...and no, don't say CampusTextbooks, already tried them)
Mealplan all paid for, utilities, housing...everything's all set.
More specifically, when he checks bank account info it says where it's from...so if it says "*************", they don't have much snowboarding stuff for me to buy (the one I think would've worked the best). Amazon won't be hard to explain away.

It's my money all right, but they just want me to exercise "fiscal responsibility"
But then again, my dad's idea of the latter is buying stuff after it's on sale, hence why I'm shopping around for the best deal instead of straight from one website.

Maybe clothes will work...especially "winter wear". Yeah, that's not too bad.
The car thing won't work- since my sis and I are both here at Utah State, we share my car. Since she's got a job right now and I don't, she keeps the car with her and is in charge of taking care of it. My parents would see through that.

Do you need the jersey for a team? If not, screw it and get the pack. Tell them you had to pay off some gas bills or something. Hell, your a good kid, say you donated it to charity for the school or kids or something.

Yeah I'm getting my jersey because we're getting a team together to play against other college teams from Salt Lake (U of Utah), Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho and a few others in the XPSL.
CHARITY! LOL I should say that, my parents could see that but would be pissed I gave so much to the unfortunate. Still, I'd laugh demonically after I heard their gasp over the phone.
And one other thing...roflsaurus.

If it'll work, do it. Say you donated like 20 to a bunch of different.

Ok screw it, I bought both items.
As for the Village purchase, it'll be "snowboarding gear and winter wear".
As for Amazon, it'll be "two CD's"
As long as the word "Paintball" doesn't show up in either order when my dad checks in OH, I'm in the clear. If it does...heh it'll be an interesting day of phone tag with my parents.
I figured if it was a "donation", it would show up as withdrawals since they don't take credit cards for the relief efforts they have here on-campus.
I feel like such a man. Oh what I've been missing out on...
