the "good name of Ions"? Ions don't have a good name for a reason. The Ion XE has a tolerable name, I personally speak well of them, but VERY few people speak WELL of Ions. they're low grade crap that you're most likely to break when trying to perform maintenance on eventually because SP designed it so stupidly that you had to tear the whole damn thing apart to clean it.

IF you have to upgrade it inorder to make it good than Their is something wrong with the gun. Your logic dosn't make any sense. Its good because you upgrade it anyway? WTF
Please explain how your logic makes sense? If you have to put other parts on something to make it good, than you are literally saying that the orginal thing wasn't good. Meaning your saying that by having to upgrade it the ion isn't that good.
Bottom line is smart parts didn't put half a thought into the gun. It is am amazing spool platform, just a horrid gun. Get the EOS, everything complainable about the gun has been removed basically. Just slap in a QEV and it's golden. Around a case off a fill when tuned correctly, dead straight shootin, quiet as hell.

Seriously, whats great about the EOS? If anything its what the ion should've been. And that is not saying much. For the price of an EOS one can pick up a far better gun from a company with a better reputation and standing in the paintball community.
An amazing spool platform? Its not a droid or a DM. A case off a fill? Maybe if you used an 88/45 and included shots that had shootdown.

I never said buy an EOS new, **** that the price is way too high(Assuming it's still in the tre fitty range). You buy one used off the nation for like 200 tops. I have shot countless Ions, fully upped mind you, that got well near a case and in some points surpassed it(But not by much).

Also I hate buying used. Some people never take care of their **** and you end up getting something thats in horrible shape. Its really hard to judge how good a gun is off a picture.
It depends on the gun for buying used. If its a viking or automag, I know those AKA owners take care of their pieces. A used ion? Ion owners aren't exactly known for their maturity and responsibility.
