so i dont play on a team or anything, i just go with my friends. one of my friends that i go with isnt what i would call someone you would think would like to paintball. i dont really know how to explain, hes one of those guys that's just really afraid to get hit, and when he does, he like jumps up and down screaming in pain. he pretty much cried once. anyway, to make a long story longer, he never really moves past the first row of bunkers until the very end, when theres hardly anyone left on the other team. then he thinks hes all good because he lasted till the end and i didnt cuz i ran up half the field off the break and got shot early. no matter how much i shout at him (usually from the dead box cuz im out, remember) he wont move up, even if someones covering him. he just wont listen. one time i was talking to this guy, 5 mins later, i looked up and he hadnt moved at all from the same position: the back row, hanging out with a bunch of skittish noobs. what should i do? i mean, its really a pain, you cant count on him to cover you, or to move basically, and i cant go without him cuz if he found out he'd be pretty pissed, so im stuck with him, but i want to make it fun for the both of us. any suggestions on what to do?

take him out in the back and tell him you ordered a pizza and your waiting for it... throw him a mask and say put this on if u like to see, then raise up ur marker and begin shooting... shoot until he is on the ground writhing in pain... he will either quit playing paintball and never talk to you again, or you have just cured his fear of being hit.

use his tactic of standing behind the back bunker till the end of a game, then bunker his ass. After that happens a few times he'll get it figured out

hmm... good idea PDogg. and ya, i guess i can just go without him. i could just tie him to a tree and shoot him, fun for me, and it solves the problem

show him the "i love paintball" vid thats all over the net. It shows some guy getting ripped on from a dm4 with ramping just for fun. Then the next time you shoot him and he cries reinact the video and make him "love paintball" too...hehe mean but funny and to the point.

Take his bunker.

And see what he does, have all your teammates go to the back bunkers and hog it. That way he will HAVE to move up and become non pansyish (sp)

i dont think that would work, the little kids that come to the field i play on, hide behind bunkers in the beginning, crowd around the good people, and sit in the same bunker, and in the end, they surrender.

Have him do some one on one games with YOU. And that way he will have to move, or you will bunker him.

ya, i was thinking about starting a team with this other guy and some of his friends. it would be a disaster if this guy joined. ya, the thing about the little kids is, its already happened. it seems good in theory, except one thing: he thinks hes good cuz he can beat little 8 year olds with rentals. big woop. moving up from the back row is huge because every one else is in the back row, huddled behind one bunker, as said above. however, at least it shows him what needs to happen to win, and starting with baby steps is a good idea. still, it worked for a little, untill we played with other people and he started getting shot again. i have played 1 on 1 with him. i won both times. he kinda figured out that he need to change his playing style a little after that, but after a while playing with everyone else, he reverted. i think maybe i'll just tell him the truth. you have to move up to be of any use at all. hiding behind the same bunker is pointless and gets you bunkered in the end. if you cant handle getting hit, find another sport, like bowling, power-walking or ping pong, maybe even curling (but im not sure he could lift the rock thingy). thanks for the advise, i just realised theres not much more i can do. thanks for letting me vent.

I remember i was in a one-on-one game with my friend who dosent paintball very often. He went straight for the snake and didnt move from there(but he did keep a pretty good lookout). instead I kept moving around till we were on the opposite sides of the 50. I tried to shoot him from there, but back then i had a stock Spyder E-99 and couldnt hit the red side of a barn. it ended with me sneaking up and coming right over his bunker, but I didnt shoot him, that would just have been bad sportsman ship.
