Had a rather good saturday except for some quipment problems.
For starters, my HALO has now been at NPS for over a week, and i've heard nothing from them, which meant that I had to take out a rental hopper this weekend. No biggie, but the feedneck on it was kinda screwed, and it was pretty loose, even with my Trinity T-Lock fully tightened around it. So that was a minus, but it only fell off once or twice, and it was during woodsball when it fell. It did wiggle around in speedball, but I was able to spin it back into place behind a bunker.
So my friend and I got to the field, and we played a few 2 on 2 games to warm up with some guys, we lost the first one, won the second, and narrowly lost the third game. They were quick hyperball games.
Then came (for me) the real fun part of the day. Bhud, the field manager, and he used to play with Trauma i think, and one other player were holding a pretty cool training session that any player could do. It ended up that we only had 3 other people plus my friend and I doing it. One of them was a field regular that I know just by being out there, dont know him that well, and the two others Id never met before. But it was a pretty fun ~1.5 hours of drills that really helped with my skills; just the basics like form and runbys and such, but I got some good practice in, and learned a lot from those guys....who obviously know what they're doing much more than we did. I think the most important thing was that I got a LOT better with my left hand
An interesting fact, all of the players doing it had Ions in various configurations
After that we just went back to walk-on play, but I definitly felt that my play had improved throughout the day, especially at the end of the day in the speedball games. The left-handed snap shooting now made a big difference for me, and I had learned some ways to keep a much smaller profile.
So nothing exceptional about the games that day, but it was a really fun day.
EDIT: I take that back, there was one exceptional game: A woodsball game in which we had about 10 field regulars and a few noobs against a team that was basically a birthday party with a few others mixed in. My friend and I got to the main fort off the break and held that for most of the game, until the very end when out entire team rushed the others, and finished it out.

)
tl;dr: Had a fun day at PBC, which included some training by BHud and another player where i got loads better, then finished the day with some excellent speedball and woodsball games.
