i want to hear all your paintball myths, horrors or something that you dont understand how it happened but mostly myths.

o really? im thinking of going from a 10 inch to a 14 inch should i get a longer berrel or just keep it stock?

It is because the barrels length starts causing the ball to slow down before it leaves the barrel, causing you to have to crank your velocity up thus using more air.

So i guess that's in a way confirmation of the myth that longer barrels are in every way better. That's a huge drawback for CO2 users. But then again, i guess it depends a lot on how much you shoot and how you do it...
10" barrel to a 14" barrel is a difference in accuracy but anything over 14" is a waiste and the extra inches will jsut get in the way.
*Edit:* And yes paintballs do freeze, they hurt liek hell, not a good idea to pull them out of the freezer before you go play...
1) Length and accuracy have no corresponding relationship. There have been formal (Tom Kay of AGD) and informal studies (Tyger and Webdog, MANN's Barrel test, etc.) that all have shows that barrel length does NOT effect gas efficiency or accuracy. You can shoot just as accurately (and as far) with an 8" barrel as you can with a 21" thunder pig.
2) If there is a gas efficiency issue, the measurable force needed to propel a paintball through a 12" barrel compared to that of a 16" barrel is statistically insignificant.
3) For the last time -- PAINTBALLS DO NOT ****ING FREEZE!!! Most paintball fills are incapable of freezing due to their chemical formulation. Some contain agents that will indeed make the fill more viscous at lower temperature, but they will not freeze solid like a block of ice in your standard household freezer. What WILL happen is that the shells will become brittle, deformed, dimpled, swollen, and basically unusable. You will most likely have these 'frozen' paintballs break in your hopper, marker, barrel, etc, rather then your opponent.

Seconded. No way they could freeze through conventional means. I believe it's industry standard now to make the fill's base with polyethylene glycol, so no conventional freezer would freeze them since the pour point of the polyethylene glycol used in paintball is -45C (for PEG 200, which is the PEG i believe they use to make the fill). The most hardcore household freezer i've seen goes down to -40C. I've seen lab freezers that can go down to -80C but they use a liquid nitrogen circulation system.
Now, if you were to unload a CO2 fire extinguisher on a case of paint... that'd be a different story, but as the mighty admin has said before me, that'd just deform the crap out of the balls.
Officers rushed in to discover three dancers, ages 28, 44 and 51, peppered with pink paintballs and covered in circular bruises. Surveying the rest of the club, they noticed several broken, paint splattered mirrors.
And i'm sure a physicist can work out the speed required for it to break a standard 4mm thick home window so I wouldn't consider it completely BS, but at 300fps i sure haven't been able to break any.
kaz if you think that paintballs can't break a window you'd better think again. Especially people who crank up the velocity.
Just please tell me your joking. I've parked my truck in the middle of a homemade speedball feild and had no problems what so ever. Actually I'm so sure in this that I'll take out a 98 crank the velocity all the way out of the gun and go to town with a full hopper on my front wind shield at point blank range.
Mirrors aren't windows. And I also doubt the mirriors broke because of the paintballs but raither because someone broke them running for cover.
