Next Purchase: Gloves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I strongly advise anybody that is playing paintball to wear gloves! I have just gotten into the sport and have played about half a dozen times no problems been hit in the side but had proper protection in that area... I have been hit in the face (wearing mask obviously)... But took my first shot to the hand (right on my grip fingers)My knuckle started instantly bleeding and swelled up pretty good. As I was cleaning it up the area around my knuckle just became numb from the impact... the guy I was playing againts was about 20 feet away from me so it was a pretty close shot! What happened was we were playing 1 on 1 woodsball like we always do.. we were about 75 feet away from eachother each hiding behind trees but paint wasn't getting through the branches all that well... I full on sprinted up the right hand side that is lined with pine trees which makes for good protection... My plan was to shoot him from behind hoping he would stay at the tree he was shooting me from... Well he saw me make a mad dash to the other side and he moved to a different location without me know.. I made it to a nice large stump that I was laying behind taking a couple shots at where I thought he was still... I look straight ahead of me and I see him peak out from the next tree in front of me (20 feet away) so I then tuck myself behind the stump let him fire a couple shots waited till it was quite.. krept back out to try and fire a shot but he was waiting and had me in his sights already... I'm hit, right in the damn hand... haha hurt pretty good to the point where I drew blood and it made my hand twitch lol... So yeah I never really saw the point of wearing gloves, (I am a paintball noob keep in mind).. What is funny is he wears gloves and I kept saying no you dont need them... Boy was I wrong.. Before I play next I am stopping at the paintball shop!

Haha, ya I deduced that you were a noob when you said you shot at him and didn't even see him (thus giving off your new position ) But anyway, good story, and one with a great moral. I had a similar experience speedballing (maybe I'll make a thread on it). I guy nailed me on the hand, so I tucked back into my bunker to confirm a break, and noticed more blood than paint . So I raise my hand to let him know I'm out, and get nailed about 6 more times before getting off the field, haha. I was atually wearing gloves, but open fingers, so he got my second third and fourth fingers pretty bad.
