Kid gets bonus balled

My first time playing paintball went fairly well. There was this one kid who wasn't calling his hits and everyone knew it. I come in a shootout with him, me behind a tree and him in a brush pile. He stands up, I shoot him twice in the mask. He wipes. With no ref to be found he instantly begins firing back at me and almost hits me. I pull the oldest trick in the book and yell to a teamate, "bring me some paint!" The cheater, thinking I am out stands up and walks toward me, I let go, emptying about 25 rounds on him. My buddy yelled, "Paint check!" The kid called his hits the rest of the day.

Some people may disagree, but I like this story.

Nope-... won't hear me screaming about being reasonable. Asshat made his bed...

Clean and fair hits on a player are eliminations. If someone doesn't want to play by the rules...sometimes they need to "not so gently" be reminded of them.

Nice job player... I'm sure most of us have been in your position at least once.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, that makes a firearm better makes a paintball marker worse. They are 2 very different worlds with nothing except a trigger in common

I don't usually like stepping into this role because of the risks involved. You can be thrown off the field you're playing at for over-shooting...you can be sat from games for doing so..etc.

To a seasoned ref - this is letting him know that you've identified a chronic wiper and you took matters into your own hands...this player shouldn't be an issue any longer...but its also based on personal judgement - how much is too much?

To an unseasoned ref - this looks like a vendetta or retaliatory action and usually requires discipline of the offending party.

My sobering moment for this came when I was playing against a very recreational player. Being more sensitive to preservation of self - he ducks behind cover, calls himself out...only sometimes flailing his arm... and gets mad/frustrated when people don't stop shooting him. Initially to me, this looked like "wiping". I lit him up, only to find out that he wasn't aware of how to effectively call himself out. Since his voice was loud inside his mask..he thought everyone could hear him. My marker pops 8-12 times per second, inches from my face...his voice is yards away...what do you think wins?

But yeah - this situation - I'd have let my fingers wander/walk a bit..or done a solid run-thru on his blind-side...being sure to miss his pack. Can't exactly wipe the middle of your back.

what i learned from x-ball > keep shooting until someone tells you to stop, or they walk off the field

25 seems excessive, but I agree.

Lol. My spyder is only 8-9 bps at most. It took a good 3 seconds for him to call out.

Been there... Done that.
Walking off the field one day, I took 3 in the back. I turned around and yelled at the kid that I was walking off because I was out. His reply " If you can't take the pain then you shouldn't be playing". Later in the day I caught him coming towards me at a corner of a building. Unloaded 10 - 12 in the middle of his chest. He dropped to the ground crying like a little girl. As I stood over him I reminded him of his remark earlier. Poor baby, and yes I can take the pain, I just expect fair play. I you don't play fair, then I won't either.
A few more facts.
1 I use a pump so if I over shoot I know what I am doing, it is not an accident
2 I am over 50 years old, and will let alot of things slide, I understand that sometimes an extra shot happens. Say you did it by accident, don't mouth off with some smart comment.
3 I play to have fun. Yes I play to win, but if I get shot I am out.. no harm no foul. Just play fair
