I gathered a bunch of guys from work and we went to our local indoor feild. Most of the guys had never played before. One of my teammates was hiding in behind an L-shaped pallet cover. I walked up behind him and told him to throw some cover so I could get accross to the tower about 15ft away. He didn't know I was there so he spooked, turned and fired 2 shots into my ribs at point blank.
I know its not a comment, more of a player story...but *ouch*
i just received my marker today, so i went to give it a try. i went to a local field,(called local paintball) to fill the co2 tank, and there were some guys playing, some were noobs, other seemed more experienced. so one of the guys has an eclipse and when we were parking the car, he acted like he was shooting at us. later one of the other guys, comes in with a MP5SD lookalike X-7 with cyclone feeder and all that crappy stuff. so my bro goes like "look at that marker, he must be very good at it." ,"that's an awesome loader" "nice pants, and that shirt" very cool.... i was like *so? it's a X-7, it's no big deal" we left after some practice shots with my brand new marker and we left the field. so he was still talking about how cool it was. so i told him that it wasn't such a great marker, his answer was "we're in colombia, what else did you expect" then i talked him about the local good teams that have sponsors and good guns. it's not really funny, just something that happens when ignorance strikes....

A friend of mine is a real steel gun nut, he's working to become a gunsmith. Unfortunately, because of the laws in this country, it's taking about a billion years for him to get licensed up, and he's going nut on Soldier of Fortune Magazine. So, this Christmas I got him his first ever PB gun, so he could do a little shooting, and I'd have an excuse to pop him every once in a while (I love the guy, but sometimes...) Anyway, when I told him that all the ingredients of a paint ball are food grade, he ate one.
If you don't know why this is funny, go eat a paintball, then come back and post.
Almost everytime I go the feild I play at I hear someone say "I need more bullets!" or "Cool! Full auto!" when their air tank runs out.
Not really a noob story, but a unsportsman/sportsman like story.
I was in a building, by myself but I didnt know that my entire team was gone. So the opposing team (of about 8 reamining players) is shooting at me, and I'm shooting back, all is going well, getting people out, not hitting hit but coming really close to, several bounces. So the other team says that they hit me and the ref goes in to paintcheck me, and asks me to stand up turn around on the spot once or twice.
And then one of the guys on the other team starts shooting at me while the ref is right next to me too and paint checking me. I mean seriously, thats just not cool when you knowingly shoot at someone during a paintcheck. Luckliy, the ball bounces off. Several minutes latter, I'm getting paint checked again, and once more, I get shot at, finally getting hit in the pod pack in the middle of a paintcheck.
I was mad because I got shot during a paintcheck, not because I got out, but then, when I turned around, there was one of the other team, who had just managed to flank me and was going to shoot me in the back at about a 6 foot distance. Thankfully he didnt.
Would you guys have felt the same way I did when I got shot at during a paintcheck, or am I over reacting?
Refs at my fields specifically say that when they're paintchecking you, you are to continue to play. They also will not ask you to stand up and turn around in the field of fire, they'll move around you to check as they should. Sounds like you've got some lousy refs.
not much of a comment but a few things i witnessed last weekend
new players bringing the bag of 500 with them out onto the field so they can reload durning the game
and there were also a few that had little 100 pods tucked in their sweatshirt pocket, but they would place the marker on the ground and very carefully dump it into the hopper during play
also, "im out of bullets"!
