Hey everyone. Just checked my regular field,
EMR today and saw that they're changing our field paint from Severe to Marballizer. Most people are pretty happy about it given that Marballizer is awesome and they're keeping the price the same at $80 a case. Seeing the MSRP on marballizer is around $75, I'm pretty happy, too.
The question I had relates to how phantoms like marballizer. I haven't shot that paint in years and when I did it was through my 'mag. I used to love marballizer because it's nearly perfect paint, but it used to be super pricey. I used to use proball when they were around and have since been using the various diablo paints as that's what my local store/field sells. Of course, I've shot EMR's old paint as well.
I read someone's rant online about how their phantom loves marballizer, but it was a few years old and they had the old style unibody phantom. My phantom is almost brand spakin' new (still have yet to play a scenario game with it) and has only been around the block a few times in short games. I've got the upgraded 16" barrel with the muzzle break. I know marballizer is on the smaller side as far as paint comes, but I have the detent ring set and I'm not worried about roll-outs. The diablo I shoot will roll out in a second if I don't put the detent in. It seems that the diablo I usually shoot is a bit small for the barrel and bounces around quite a bit as it travels down it. Marballizer might be a little bit bigger and thus might solve the problem.
Anyone shoot marballizer out of a Phantom lately and if so, what did you think? Short of buying a case and finding out for myself, I figured this would be the best place to come. Maybe we can even start a thread on good paint for pumps...
