So im saving for a Phantom...
I have only used a pump once, so im practically new to the whole pump scene, and I have a couple of questions.
First,do I really need to save up for a VSC, or will a regular SC so just fine?
Also, when i do buy which ever i buy, will i need any ups right out of the box? How are the stock parts?
How exactly do you change a 12 gram during a game? Is it just unscrew the 12 gram screw the next one in? And hows consistency/efficiency(sp?)?
Any other helpfull info you think i should know would be great.

yeah, you can change it. you will need items 47-55 on the phantom parts list (basically, hardline and vertical adapter) and you're set because you already would have a 12 gram changer.
I like the feel of the VSC personally, but its your choice. to change 12 grams, just unscrew, pop and new one in, and screw. its pretty quick.
as for upgrades, there are none that are necessary. i would suggest getting the ball detent ring kit beacuse its a $6 solution to rollouts.
as far as consistency, im not completely sure. ive heard you can get 30-40 shots off a 12 gram. im going to try it out the next few times this week. so far i got about 25 shots w/o dropoff, but i didnt see how many it would take to start losing velocity (i was just fooling around in my backyard). i like using a 3.5 oz tank b/c its one less thing you have to worry about during the middle of a game.
you are going to love it. congratulations on making a good choice!

there's white wolf airsmithing...but that takes a long time. there's doro paintball and bunkerboyz. umm, lets see...stoneagepaintball. and of course the BST section of PBN, or the phantom owners group ( http://www.bunkerboyz.com/phog/), or stockclasspaintball.com.

SC is just fine, the only difference between it and VSC is the location of the 12 gram charger.
You may find your balls rolling out of the barrel, buy a detent ring set to fix this (5-6$). After this you do not need to upgrade any parts. Stock barrel is amazing.
To fill a 12 gram you unscrew the holder, swing it towards the ref that laughed when you brought the phantom up for the chrono so that he has to dodge it, put the next 12 gram in, and screw back in.
Many people find they get 30-40 shots per 12 gram, and i have found the same to be true for myself.
I usually have +-1 or 2 fps for consistency

Ahh, yeah im gonna buy a wrist holdeer(to hold tubes/12 grams) and a 3.5 ounce tank eventually. So your saying that you jsut screw off the end cap and the 12 gram shoots off?

if there's still air in the 12 g, then it will leak out of the holes in the changer (thats what theyre there for). just wait til its all out, then slide it out. so basically, yeah, just screw it off and it'll shoot air out. im not quite sure what youre asking here lol.
