This'll probably sound really dumb but I just got a stock phantom with the 10 round horizontal feed tube, backbottle configuration and elected to go with a 3.5oz tank instead of the 12gram with the quick changer. Unfortunately when I try to screw the tank in, the valve on the tank hits the end cap of the feed tube so it won't turn at all. What am I missing? I've been told that a 3.5oz CO2 tank should work just fine on a 10 round feed tube.

Any ideas?

I've heard of possibly puting a regulator on the air adapter which will extend it farther away from the feed tube so the tank should be able to screw on. Has anyone heard of this method? And if I was to get a regulator for a phantom what would you suggest?

Will let you know inside a week. Not using a regulator, but am using an in-line ON/OFF (Smart parts) but it should work out the same. Expect I'll have to remove the 10 round tube to get the on/off on the first time...and may have to shim it so the on/off knob is in an operable place...but expect the worst case would be that I'd have to grind/pilish a shallow groove in the on/off for the 10 round to clear. From there, will leave the on/off in place and screw the tanks in and out of it.

Been more than a week...sorry about that...but the Smart Parts on/off will screw into the marker (did have to remove the feed tube once to do that) and allow the 3.5oz. tanks to screw on and off without removing the feed tube. Helps if you shim the on/off (i used a thick o-ring) so that one of the little side flats ends up at 12 o'clock..wich is cool as it puts the on/off knob to one side). It just extends the tube far enough to allow the tank (or even a 9 or 12 oz....and those are long enough to act as a stock for you anna-be snipers) to screw in withough banging into the feed tube.
