Hey guys! So I have started playing paintball recently and I really got into it and I was looking for my first gun.
I want to get a pump marker because I saw a few people playing it and it looked interesting, and, I'm on a budget and I don't want to waste a lot on paintballs. I was looking at a few online but cant decide.also, I play at a speedball field but it has some big arenas in the back that have plenty of space.
Budget= $200 or less
So I just got back and I thought it was an okay experience. There was an AsA problem which took like 10 minutes to fix, and the guy turned the velocity to 0, so that alone took 30 minutes. The gun (after the velocity turned up) had a few problems, but managed to shoot okay. If you didnt shoot RIGHT after you pumped, than it would'nt work. And there were many times where the paintballs would just roll out the barrel. It got pretty annoying...
You usually have to dial in your ASA when its new so thats to be expected. What problems was it having specifically? And as far as the ball rolling, that means you either need new detents or the balls you were using were so small that they were just bypassing the detent. If its the latter problem, a barrel kit would solve that.
I see.... I dont know if I should keep this, or go for the hammer 7. This one seems a little old..
The guy at the field told me what I had wasnt really a begginer gun. I really like this gun but i dont know if i should stick with it or sell and get a new gun...
The balls rolling out is the paint being to small for the barrel. The detents on a autococker are ONLY there to prevent double feeding. If you have a cocker, you really need a barrel kit. Due to paint variations you would have to buy a few barrels to prevent this.
If it isn't holding pressure that must mean there is a leak somewhere. More than likely their is something wrong with the valve o-ring or cup seal. It isn't a hard fix either way, but there definitely are simpler pumps out there.
After thought, I decided I should keep it... Main problem is,is that I went at night, and that the course wasnt lit well, So I couldnt see where the ball was going
I looked around on the interent for a little bit, But didnt really know what I was looking for...
Can anyone provide a link for a CCM 2k+ pump kit, or stuff I should add to minimize the problems?

Also, I could use a few barrel reccomendations
The detent is only there to prevent double feeding in autocockers. So if you were shooting more than 1 paintball at a time, then there is a problem with the detent.
I would check ebay or pbntion for a barrel kit that will fit it for under $60. You can find several on there. They will not be the best, but it will keep your balls from rolling out.
The barrel kits have different bore sizes. So you can choose a smaller bore size for smaller paint. This will prevent the balls from rolling out of the barrel. Then if you use larger paint, you can use a larger bore size.
The apex will not keep them from rolling out of the barrel.
You can try to use clear fingernail polish. A lot of guys use to do it back in the day to prevent it from happening. Edit- you just put a little at the end of the barrel. If that doesnt stop it, put a little more, and repeat.
Make an account on MCBrown. Its another paintball forum. Go to the custom section and see if you can find someone to mill your current stock barrel. What that'll do is allow the barrel you already have to accept freak inserts. The milling service usually costs $20-$30. Inserts separately are $12 so its a bit cheaper
Oh that's actually a really good idea. You need to start with a very large bore barrel though. You can't use any freak bore larger than the original bore size of the barrel. I have friends who did this and it worked out very well for them.
someone i play with swears by his no-name $10 barrel that he won at a scenario giveaway. the bore is like a ridiculous .692 or something like that too, but it shoots darts
