Pump guns?
My friends want to start paintballing with me more, but they dont want to spend 20 bucks every time to rent all the stuff. They asked how much a cheap but reliable paintball gun would be, so i told them 50 dollars. (spyder victor). But they dont want to pay that much. they would rather get pump guns, if they're cheaper, and play in some woods. I'm sure they're cheaper, but I know nothing about them, whats good, whats not. I know that in most cases, buying a semi at walmart isnt a good idea, but how about the pump guns? Would they be ok getting them there? Just need some advice, because I've never owned one before. Thanks.

BE makes the blade, talon and sabre. htey can be gotten at wallyworld and are probaly the cheapest pumps you can find.
Reliable? Well, they BE aren't they? Otherwise you'll have to go to Ebay. You might get lucky like Alpha agd get your hands on an SL-68II for under $100, but new? I've seen Phantoms listed for around $300.

yeah, i think thats whats going to happen. I'll just tell them to get victors or something. I played with one my first game, i liked it. for $50, you cant go wrong. especially since they arent all that serious about it, just some backyard play. Thanks for the replies, guys.

another option for a cheap, but reliable pump gun is the aci maverick or pmi trracer. both run 35-40 used. i had a trracer before, and it's super reliable, and very simple like a phantom (only a couple parts.)

I got a 3 step plan for your friends:
1. Get a Job
2. Collect Paycheck
3. Buy a gun that is not a POS

Take a look on e-bay for the Brute pump markers. They go for about 20 buck a piece, maybe 50 total (including shipping) for a full package. They seem sturdy and I think are only cheap because they are a Korean knock-off of the ACI series.

hahaha I knew it! Yeah, I read somewhere that a blade can actually be very good if you replace the internal springs with cheapos from a local hardware stores. so, if your buddies are mechanically inclined, save some $ and grab a blade and some springs! I havent tried it but someone that reviewed the gun did and said it was very good after that (with like, Phantom like gas efficiency and accuracy of a.... well... a blade but you know)
