Hey everyone i was thinking about getting a handgun and was wondering... Is it worth it?
I mean like out in the field is it a good weapon? I'm not fat so i could be manueverable around the feild and jump and roll and stuff. but is it still worth it? and if yes, what kind of gun should i get? (2 would be nice) links? names? Thank you.

Nope not worth it, its just for show and mil-sims. $200 can get you things much better. Jumping with a handgun marker(or any marker) and rolling isnt a good idea btw.

Pistols are one of those things that people love or hate. As backups they aren't much good since few fields allow you to take more than one marker onto the field and a well maintained primary is very unlikely to break down on the field anyway meaning the pistol never leaves your holster. The limited paint capacity is something many players get annoyed with once the newness of the pistol has worn off.

If you want a pistol as a primary you get the same benefits as a pump player a very light gear load and a very small profile. Just be prepared for the same incredibly steep learning curve.

Pistols aren't all about milsim either I'm waiting for one of these to be finished being built I wouldn't call it milsim.

Handguns? I have three of them; a Glock 29, a Glock 22, and a Smith and Wesson 442 revolver.


As for pistol markers, I would say what would generally apply to a handgun would apply to a paintball pistol. You are going to be limited drastically in range to less than about 20ft on average, you are going to be limited in capacity to 10 rounds or less, your accuracy is going to be greatly reduced, and you air source is going to be limited to 12g CO2 canisters that will on average last only 40 rounds. As in the real world, a pistol makes a great backup do to size and quick access, but for general purpose I would say not to use it as a primary unless you really want to challenge yourself. I've heard of real ballsie people using two high end pistols as their primaries, but you'd have to be really good to get anywhere with that setup.


Also, a good and useable pistol marker is going to run you over $200. I have a 32 Degrees PT Extreme marker that I bought years ago and it was about $150 and it is medicore at best. I saw a nice one at the local shop last week that was about $240 and held both the balls and the 12g in the removeable magazine and the magazine could be removed without the 12g losing it's air.

Depends on how you play..

I know some guys like thier marker's to be longer than I am tall, so a pistol works well for them when they need to get tighter to a bunker and lower their profile rather than trying to wield a 4 foot marker.

I see some guys, those that kinda sit back, never need to draw their sidarm so in a sence, that's a waste.

Then there are those like me, who can't stand sitting around waiting for enemies to come into range, so I goto them. Pitols are great for "point men", light and low profile, easy to aim once you get used to it. I played with my G2 pistol for 3 years straight then made the switch back to Stock Class pump.

Pistol are effective at 150 feet, you'll get 20 useable shots off a 12 gram. The Zeus G2 can accept a hopper adapter, bottom line kit, front grip and longer barrels, making it a full sized marker, if one wanted to.

What you need to do is find a local player that owns a pistol and ask him/her if you can try it out for a game or two and see if that's a marker you like.

it seems to me that a pistol would only be effective in scenario play or woods ball.... i just cant picture whipping it out in speedball lol. but hell i could be wrong....

you can get a piranha usp pistol for 50$ to see if you like it then you could get another if you wanted or sell if you didnt like it.
