cocker
WGP tactical = hardcore covert
cockers are quiet guns with a wide range of customizing options so you can make whatever you want. They are easy to maintain (don't listen to cocker n00bs; if you don't mess with it while it's fixed, you won't have to fix it after it's broken)
Mech Cockers work wonderfully in the woods, thats why they dominated the woods back in the day. You wouldn't believe how many players come up to me after games (speedball or woodsball) and comment about how they had no clue where i was because they couldn't hear my gun pop

alright, here then
the x7 is newer-therefore in return you have more and better technology into it.
U can upgrade more - unfortunatly it costs more
It can be made to look like any gun,
so therefore its better.
and it just looks so much cooler than anything

To DeadlyDaune:
First off: The Tippmann 98 C ACT, and the Tippmann 98 Pro are being made right now in 2007.... You can't get any newer than that!
Secondly: You can upgrade a 98 just as much as an X-7 for less $ and they will preform the same!
Third: Makeing the X-7 LOOK like any gun does nothing!! Abosulutly nothing other than add extra weight making it worse.
Fourthly: LOOKS mean NOTHING
To sumsimplerracer:
Cockers are not silent at all, they actually make 2 noises raither than one! (one to cock the bolt and one to shoot) and the fact still remains that cockers are very complicated and about 100 times easyer to screw up than a tippman.

Me and kaz agree on many of the same things, as do many players. The X7 is all talk and no walk. A5 + weight in stuff that doesnt affect performance = X7.
I love how you say because its newer and it can be upgrade to look cool makes it better. So, because there are more look upgrades for the X7 i should go sell my PM6 because, obviously with so little look upgrades i can get it must suck!

i love my 98, yes i added some crap to it, yes its heavier and technically the ups didn't do much for the performance, its still a 98 at its core, but i love it, the whole x7 thing is a joke, seriously I opted for the 98 simply because I think it looks better and is the better bang for the buck, this was pre x7 and comparing it to the a5 of the time, now that the x7 has arrived its just a pimped out a5 but still nothing more special

X-7 cyclone system feeds faster than A-5
X-7 rate of fire higher than A-5
All do respect to you guys, please do research and make informed assessments.

Once they fixed the burring issues they had with the milled gas tubes.

Yeah, our field got some of the first run of X-7s. There is a difference in one of the gas tubes between the X-7 and the A-5 (something with milling). Well the machine wasn't calibrated and was leaving burring. It screwed up the feed of air to the cyclone feed. They fixed it. No worries now.

yea with the whole burr thing, they fixed that and drilled some holes in it to make sure there is no overpressure and make feed faster. the x7 is nicer cause its very accurate when it comes stock with the 8.5, it was a nice gun before upgrades. now i have an eframe 14" barrel, and folding stock. real nice love the eframe more balls a second faster feed with the x7 than a5 and the 14 just makes it so much more accurate over range. as for the folding stock its nice for running when u dont want it in the way because its as long as a real rifle so its nice to have the option of folding the stock. over all the gun is nice stock but even better upped. it helps with performance and looks

Personally, I think that the A5 or even the 98 work just as good as the x7. Just subtract about 150$. Plus I love the looks of the 98. I tossed on a Progressive barrel, got a red-dot sight and a stock. This put my total cost at about 260$, 40 less than a stock X7. My friend and I did an accuracy and the 98 OUSTED. Ousted = pwned.

Again, I don't have much experience with speedball. As I understand, speedball you need a light gun to bring to aim quick.
I personally don't mind a heavy gun in the woods. I'm not particularly big or strong, but I do keep in shape and I don't have a problem lugging around a fairly heavy marker.

i have a tippman 98 custom with a stock and a 14" sp barrel
i also have a spyder vs1
i play tourny and rec and overall i go with the vs1
people can say that spyders are nothing but a rookie gun but their vs serious and rs serious are really well thought out.
the vs1 is everything and more then the tippman. its quicker, lighter, gives you more options for game types.
the tippman is more durable though so if you're a rough player and really through your gear around its a good option. and if you put some money into it it can be a fairly decent gun.
my vote spyder vs1
