nothing beats the sound quality of my old courtois prestige 311... my private teacher/professor yelleded at me HARD-core one time because i had it in the shop and was using my bach.... this of corse was back when i was a music major doh... side note... my stomvi SUCKED ;-) gorgious horn... but the way it played... blakkkk... prob as good as an average strad though...

that being said... i think trumpet can hurt more then help... due to the long piston stroke... your muscle memory seems to pull your fingers further then they need to... piston stroke is prob a little over an inch... i don't play much anymore... but my fingers still have the 1+" stroke memory... kinda useless when you have your trigger set to just a few mm

well what ii was doing last night was trying to walk the first to like it was a rocking trigger and i tried to see how fast i could do it

I've got an old Conn from the 40s. Stopped playing a while ago, but doing trills will help. When you can play like Doc Severtson, play as fast as he can, your fingers should be alright.
