ok, so this may sound kinda wierd and back wards for a woods ball player, but i dont like my shots to shoot straight and long distances. i thought about this when i was responding to alphas barrel post, and i realized that for me its actually better to lob my shots. now, it may just be the areas i play in, all of which are generally pretty brush filled,but i like to be able to lob my shots over obsticals rather than just trying to shoot straight through them. what i do is once i see a target i start slowly lobbing shots in his general direction, moving the gun to accomidate for any miscalculation. then, once i have the spot i want, i wait for him(or her, we actually play with girls, woah) to pop out of their spot and try to hit me. then, i shoot a large volume of shots right where i was aiming. now, you may say that i could do this with the gun shooting straight too, but what i can also do is if the brush is to thick to shoot through(which it usually is) i can either raise or lower the angle im shooting at and land some right on top of them, in essence keeping them down and not letting them move.

so what i ask of you , oh paintball forum, is is this a crazy idea? smaller barrel, lowr velocity? or am i a genious(this fact is unavoidable in any case, but still)

lower velocity always works, but then you have the chance of hitting them and it not breaking

Or, buy the new Apex barrel that is adjustable to lob/dive bomb, curve left, and curve right. Sounds like this barrel was made for you!

Actually, I was kidding. I can't see anyone forking out about $100 for that "barrel".

Why your second statement? Are you having lobbing problems with your Ion?

well no, if he ever does decide to buy the apex, he might as well sell his current gun and buy an ion, much more worth than buying a apex.

have you seen the video for the apex? works like a charm,its somewhere on PBN. i didnt think it would work either but it actually works.

genius huh? I think you stumbled on the principal of common sense lol.

if your lobbing paintballs, it's probably because it's working out better for you, but I only lob at medium-long distance, where i can drop shots right over bunkers onto someone's head, or just hit some turkey standing out in the open thinking he's out of range. I HATE when people lob shots over bunkers and hit me on top of the head, they never break. I don't like going to work the next day with my hair sticking up where I got wacked 15 times in the same spot.

breaking never seems to be a problem for me, it may be that i buy cheap ass paint(which is definently true) but it seems that if i hit them a ball breaks the first couple times, if not the first time

Just so you all know, if you shoot me with an apex, and I know your using one, and I know you shot me with one by curving it aroung my bunker, I'm going to wipe the hit. Recball or not.

Do you think using the Apex barrel is cheating? Either way, what you are saying is you would cheat...now that's integrity for you!

an apex barrel is a different way of showing you have no skill and need your gun/parts to do your work for you... practice.. get some skill and get him out by actually doing something... i agree with alpha.. i'd do the same...

well what if i hold a flatline sideways and curve it around a bunker that way?

it's the same effect.

i agree, apex is a joke, but unless you're in a tourny or fieild that doesn't allow it, it's not cheating. it's just putting spin on a ball to curve the shot. been done by flatlines already. and getting hit by one doesn't justify wiping.

I play woodsball and where I play most of the cover is just sticks or small logs stacked on top of each other. The only guy im really worried about when hes shootin at me as armed with a flatline. He can get right through those bunkers but noone else really can. I guess it just depends on where and what you play.

There is no way the other player could call a ********** on you because he wouldn't see you. I wouldn't wipe in rec ball though.
