Good idea.... wait till it gets dark... get a pickup and go hay bail picking.... that would be funny! Then the cops ask you why you were stealing hay, and you tell them your making a paintball field...they might laugh and let you go...

Round bails aren't very cheap at all. But they would be fun to have a feild of now that i think of it.
Still, anyone have any ideas for making an old door stand up if i don't have a tree to lean it on?

Dig a hole around the size of the side of the door, and then put the door pretty deep into the ground.

For a snake, im using an old couch, and trash barrels covered with tarps to make it look less like crap... it works pretty good for us... Also for the snake you could get old free tires, and stand them up side by side in a line, using some kind of long peice of wood or rope to hold them up next to each other... That would work great

we have an old boat sat up on its side and old crates with some old plywood over it and we took a pile of 4x4's and lincon logged them (if you know what that means) and put old christmas trees from our nabors in the middle so it wouldent go through and we have an old trailer that you would pull behind a mower and leaned it back.

For snakes me and my friends all chipped in some money and bought storage totes, pimp snakes. We use storage totes for others bunkers two. Garbage cans, plywood, storage totes. Sweet for backyard field bunkers.

I posted this somewhere before, but you can go to a lumberyard and they usually have tons of pallets they don't need. And I mean pallets in all shapes and sizes. They have pallets that are about 4ft wide and 16ft long. 4 of those make a good snake. You can run em together or place hips at the ends of each one.
When you get the pallets, also ask them for old lumber covers. When they receive their lumber, it's wrapped in this woven plastic fabric. It will stand up to a paintball shot, especially if you double wrap the pallet.
You can also ask them for scrap boards. Sometimes they have a stack, but they usually get thrown away pretty quickly. It never hurts to ask.
Also, if you see any construction sites, ask the guys working there if you can have their scraps. Sometimes you can get some decent boards. Once it has been cut or nailed the lumberyard usually won't take it back.

i think its spelled plexi glass...but i dont think u can get alot of Plexi glass for a cheap prise, im getting one for my shield im making...or fixing lol. it cost him a dollar becuase he works at the store but its like 6 bucks for just a square foot...so bunkers well maybe a little pricey. The shield is here tho if u wanna see my mobile bunker Homemade Scenario Paintball Shield
Also Trashbags filled with dirt is a great idea, i never thought of somthing that easy....my friend has a woods we build a fort in the middle and we dug a hole or foxhole w/e u want to call it for people to take cover in the earth lol maybe we will use that dirt for the dirt bags for bunkers! kinda like sandbags if u want too.

i know this will get destroyed wuite quickly but i think it would be pretty cool to make an entire paintball field out of the free boxes you can get from usps, cover them in saran wrap or whatever, but seeing an entire box field before it gets destroyed would be pretty sweet.
my buddies and i use mostly tires, but we found an old part of a cement drain system in his woods near a development, so for several days over the summer we used two winches and moved it through the woods. jst kinda rolled it end over end. i dont think ill ever, ever do that again.
you can also get sand bags really cheap online, just fill them up with some dirt and you are good to go. or reuse those opsoi/ fertalizer bags that the gardener in your family gets, instead of ripping them open and throwing them out, cut the corner, empty the topsoil or fertalizer for your "gardener" than take the bags, and fill them with dirt, and voila, another sandbag-like bunker.

That box field thing gave me an idea, though it could be a little dangerous.
What if there was a paintball field (it would have to be indoors because of the wind outside) with entirely disposable bunkers. Not like, throw them away after using them once, but more like, lightweight things that go flying through the air after they get shot, so it'd be like, reinforced cardboard boxes (you don't want the paintballs to rip through it). These "disposable" bunkers would be stacked up, to create layers.
Picture this:
The whistle/horn goes off to start the round. Paintballs start flying, and each time one of the layers of the bunker is hit by a paintball, it flies off of the rest of the stack through the air. The arena would look more like a battlefield, with cover strewn across the field and everyone improvising. It would create chaos, with large (light enough that it wouldn't cause any serious damage to a player, especially with a mask covering the eyes) objects flying around, and paintballs being fired at the same time. It could create an effect of confusion and disorder, and would just put a cool effect into the normal game of speedball.

There's a pretty schweet diagram of the action right there, if I do say so myself.
Anyway, just try to give yourself a mental image of a speedball game with a destructable environment.

nirvana, im thinking that the boxes would kinda just tumble to the floor and create a pile of boxes which would be sweet to slide through, heck could you imagine just running and sliding through a bunker thats still standing, and bunkering the kid on the other side? unfortunately, im thinking it would be too much of a hassle to set up again.

Well, you could make a maze-type area (or just build walls and windows and stuff) out of corkboard. Paintballs rip through the stuff really easily without splattering. It'd make it feel more real, and like you're actually shooting bullets because when you shoot it puts a hole in the wall or whatever you shoot at.
Someone should open up a field where it resembles a city, only the buildings would be made out of corkboard (haha). Then the rental guns at the field could be any of the newer military-style guns, like Spyder MR2's (cheap, electric, military-style), or if the field happens to have a lot of money they could buy Ariakons. Or, they could buy A5's and put the AK-47 style barrel, along with the stock and the AK magazine-style regulator. I know all of this would be very expensive, but still.. it'd be really cool.
Plus, you would be able to use the corkboard for a lot more than one game, and still leave the destroyed areas destroyed. It'd add to the whole battlefield effect. Then, when certain areas get too shot up, you can just patch over it with a new layer of corkboard.
Just some ideas..

Go to a fabric store, or just get some old army parachutes from like cheaper than dirt. Get momma to sew some square bunkers- but with a hole in em. Find some way to seal the hole so you can fill it...

Trashcans, plywood, the fat annoying kid that lives down the street, anything you can scramble up...treehouse would be pretty sick...pool floats, kiddy pools, old furniture, trees, plexi glass would be cool cuz you could see the people and everything...
