Tippmann 98 custom

I played paintball about 10 times and thinking about getting a marker. I want a Tippman 98 custom, but upgrade it a lot. I thinking about getting a duel trigger, 12 inch barrel, and a hopper mabey they halo. Are these good upgrades. Can you give me more tips on upgrade if their is any.

yes that sounds pretty good, i have the flatline barrel on y custom, its great i am getting like 150+ ft of range. its only like $99. ya, if ure going to get a double trigger i would get a fast hopper like halo, but that might be a little much for a tippmann. check out www.actionvillage.com
they have pretty much everything you need for a great price too.

O god, dont get a flatline, they are the least accurate barrels on the market, they add range but whats teh point if the balls dont break because teh balls are moving too slow? Also range means nothing if you dont have a consistent grouping. We ahve had many a thread on flatlines so i'll leave it at that (unless someone challenges me and greenpaint)

A dual trigger, Egrip, halo, and CP 1 peice barrel will make your tippmann a machine and just as good as any other and you could pick all it up for around $220 maybe brand new but idk why you would want to spend that much $$$ on a 98, but if you want.

I have found out that the only way that you are going to find out if the flat line is good or not is to actually get it and fidget with the velocity and paint brand untill you think you can not get any better preformance, then if it is better or worse then your old barrel thats how people rate the flat line. The only thing that I have heard that was bad about the flat line is that it is very picky on paint, and it likes the pricy stuff

Bad idea to upgrade a tippmann. You might as well jsut mail me your money, because in 6 months when you want to get a better gun, you're going to have a lot of wasted money. PS, good luck selling it for anythign near what you paid.

i have 2 tippmann 98 customs, they are great guns, more durable than any other gun on the market, and more upgradeable too

the reason is tippmann started out manufactering guns for swat and police crowd controll reasons (guns that shoot mace-balls or beanbags)

get the tippmann, who says you have to sell it in the future? buddy guns are always good and if you have 2-3 guns you can get friends started in paintball

i have 2 98 customs and a pro-lite, and they all work great, even though my fat friend took a dive barrel-first with my 2nd tippmann into some sand...ya...that was interesting
